What does it take to become a Purple name?

I was under the impression that it was for people who were on the content team, which I took to mean that they posted alot of video content. However, people such as Steezyjibber and Sklar are both purple names but have posted very little content and none of their video content has done very well. Sklar's most upvotes on an edit is 38 whereas steezyjibber's is 50. I'm not trying to call people out or be a dick I just want to know what it takes to get on the content team? I could be wrong about the whole thing, so I'm just wondering and looking for an explanation

content isn't just video. It's journalism, and photo too, both of which they do produce a lot. look at sklar's college skiing article, it's the top 10 articles of all time on NS haha, so yeah you are a bit off.

It does include video though, which is why we have mball, tannerdegiovani, gavinrudy etc.

You can't call people out and then claim that you're not calling them out... You look like a major asshole if you whine about other people and say that they're not putting out good content. It's also worth realizing that the content team is not just video production, but also includes photography and news. Sklar's in the photography and news parts of the team, whereas I'm in the photography and video crew.

As for the content team, it's based on the quality of work that you put out + the number of views that you get. If you can consistently produce quality work that racks up a good amount of views, I'm sure they'll consider you. The head of the video bit of the team is Evan Heath, the head of photo is Jamie Walter, and the head of news is Sam Turner.

So don't jump to conclusions too quickly, you're going to sorely hurt your reputation if you go around making douchey remarks just because you're not in the team yourself.

Yeah, Gavin is right, it doesn't really mean we are special, just means we make content pretty consistently and sometimes generally help out around NS. Content means everything, photos, videos and news and both the guys you mentioned kill it at creating awesome content. Also, I feel like there are a lot of people that deserve special colors but too many and it gets confusing. Also, best question I have ever had was if my purple name meant I was a female mod...

True, however gavin is constantly one of the most helpful, encouraging and positive members around. I realize OP wasn't calling anyone out but it did come across a little call-out-y. Now everyone is informed and all is well with the world

Sorry Gavin I think u may have misinterpreted what I meant. I meant that I wanted to find out if there was a reason why these people had made content team because I noticed their video content was lacking. Thanks to your explanation I now know it is based on journalism and photo as well as video. Sorry for the miscommunication but thanks for your response and answer to my question.
