Purchasing Cameras on Amazon

I hope this isn't a reposted question. I searched and didn't find anything, so bear with me if it is.

Anyways, I've been looking to buy a DSLR recently and am torn between buying a D3000 or spending the extra money on a D5000. I'm hesitant on spending 750$ for a D5000 considering I'm new to photography and am really only looking to do it as a hobby (Nature shots, mainly. But skiing will be included in the winter).

I found this D5000, however, on Amazon and it's running for 625$.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00267S7TQ/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ALAQLAKJ574UN (hyperlink isn't working, sorry!). I feel like it may be too good to be true, but Amazon is generally pretty legitimate. There are tons of great feedback of the seller, too.

Any feedback and what not would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I've bought thousands of dollars worth of photo gear of amazon, so you can trust them for sure. Like mentioned above, make sure it's an authorized amazon seller.

get the D5000, just because the numbers are similar, like aKrieg said, the D3000 is a soccer mom point n shoot. The D5000 is actually a legit first DSLR with video too, similar to the t2i, just nowhere near as many video features. I've got a D5000 and Im glad I got it first instead of a D40, the video makes it fun. And this is often overlooked but the swivel screen on the D5000 makes followcams a ton easier

Or if you're skeptical about authenticity, you could buy off of adorama.com or bhphotovideo.com. I've spent 10's of thousands on adorama.com and in there store in NYC and they're the most trusted store in the country.

but to op, I have spent millions of dollars on all of the posted sites, yes they are legit

Thanks for the websites, guys. The thing that originally drew me to the Amazon.com listing was the price. It was 125$ cheaper than everywhere else. Although, they did just up the price on it today to 656$.

I was taking a look around on B&H, and I saw they had Refurbished models for $509.95. Obviously I've never purchased a refurbished camera. Is this a big 'no-no'? Or, considering I'm a beginner, would it be an okay choice? This is the page I am looking at:http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/used/615725/Nikon_25454_D5000_Digital_SLR_Camera.html (sorry, Hyperlink isn't working again).

Thank you so much guys.

i've spent a lot on amazon buying photo gear and it's always legit, although fredmiranda prices are always much lower

dude it's fucking crazy

i went in there to compare lenses and literally all of their employees are orthodox jews

the adorama store couldn't be more different, it's really small and has multiple levels and is really cool and like a maze whereas b+h is like an assembly line with a bunch of jews
