okay so last night I got pulled over going 68 in a 35, at 1:23 am

I live in Connecticut that is where i got pulled over, I'm 18 years old and this is the first time i have ever got pulled over, so this is my first offense and the cocksucker gave me a court date, no ticket or anything just a court date so I'm assuming I'm getting a suspended license or something

can anyone offer some information

you're damn lucky, if you were going 2mph faster he could have hauled your ass to jail

i know in canada if you get pulled over doing 50km/h over the speed limit they pull your licence on the spot, tow your car and charge you for street racing.

who cares if that was your first time, you were doing double the speed limit. you will probably lose your licence which it seems you fully deserve

you know why?

because i like having money in my pocket not in the hands of my county/state government.

and i like having my license. makes sense to me.

I hope this isn't serious.

Speed limits exist for a reason. A 35mph zone is generally an area where families live, and children are running around. I don't care if it was at 1:30 in the morning. Driving double the speed limit is selfish and obnoxious, and he should have his license pulled for disrespecting the community he was driving through. And he shouldn't get it back until he is mature enough to handle a weapon such as a car.

dumb thread, seems like more of a claim than anything. why were you driving that fast in a 35 anyways?
"that cocksucker gave me a court date"
..yeah he was soooooooo out of line i am so on your side!!!!1!!1!11One!1!1!

yo dude in CT 20+ over is reckless driving and they should have arrested you on the spot. since you were going 33 over you should consider yourself pretty damn lucky

Ok, guess I'm gonna be the only one who will slightly stand up for OP.

Yes, 68 in a 35 is stupid man. I just can't see any way how you were just cruising at a safe rate. That being said, I used to work late hours. For about 2 winters I would get off work every night about 1 and be driving home right about the time you were, 1:30. I took the same roads home every night, it took me 10 minutes to get home. These roads were all 35mph. I think between those 2 winters I saw maybe 20 cars total.

When I would drive home, I could easily cruise at 50mph and I would. I felt 100% safe pulling up to 60mph on straightaways and I knew exactly where I could go fast and where I shouldn't.

So maybe that's OPs situation as well. I agree 68 had to be pushing it as far as safety goes, but it's not that far of a stretch. Everyone has to admit that speed limits are sort of draconian in a way. At least at different times of the day. I would feel utterly stupid if I drove 35mph down a country road in the middle of the night.

Normally I'd be siding with you, but if you're gonna more than double the speed limit you need to make sure there aren't any cops around. This'll be one very rough lesson to learn for the OP. The speed was so high, he might even be able to claim operator error or malfunction.

OP wont keep his license without a lawyer.

Interestingly enough, most highway speed limits exist because of the oil embrago in the 1970s and the US wanting to maximize fuel efficiency in cars.

speeding is one thing...i always speed, i drive 80 on the highway consistently because it's safe and faster

but going 68 in a 35 does not show manliness, it shows lack of attention that can potentially endanger something else. some speed limits are ridiculous but they are ALL there for a specific reason. why sacrifice time, money, safety, and the ability to drive just so you aren't a "pussy about speeding?"

my friend was pulled over doing 84 in a playground zone which is thirty for those who don't know cause they are 12. he was given a court date and are they did was a 2 week suspension and a $450 fine. I think its only in Ontario that they do that. BTW i live in alberta

recently i was pulled over doing 91 in a 65 on the way to vermont in upstate NY. I recieved a court date but seeing as it was 5 hours away i couldnt attend court and had to plead guilty. I got a 300 dollar fine initially and recieved no license suspension. However, when i paid the first ticket i recieved another a month later once the points were processed. It was considered reckless driving and resulted in 6 points on my license. In NY 6 points in one month recieves another 300 dollar fine. I didnt get any suspension or anything but id probably rather have that than a $600 fine.

ok so i live in Ct too, and i got pulled over going 48 in a 25 when i was 16 , they gave me a court date and when i went i settled for a 60$ ticket and a warning. , you should be fine

that sucks i live in ct too and the one time i got pulled over i was doing the same exact thing and i only got a warning. lol i think the cop felt bad for me cuz i spent literally 15 minutes looking through shit in my glove compartment to find the registration

Didn't read the thread but you're getting wreckless op. You'll probably lose your license for 6 months to a year. 70 in a 35? What were you thinking?

the reason im pissed is cuz i got money i dont need a suspended license and also yeah everyone whos calling me an idiot probably drives like a pussy

you were going 68 in a 35 and your saying that people who disapprove are pussies? i'm pretty glad your getting your license suspended you dumb fuck

Shut the fuck up. Because people aren't reckless with others lives doesn't mean they are a pussy. You're a lil bitch who is gonna get what he deserves. 30+ is just plain stupidity, grow the fuck up.

i work with a 19 year old idiot who likes to brag about how fast he drives everywhere and all the speeding tickets he has.
biggest uneducated immature retard i have ever met
but he "aint no pussy"

After reading the rest of OP's posts, I take back what I said. He's just a spoiled, little bitch who needs to grow the fuck up.

i didn't read the thread but get a lawyer ASAP. i got tagged for 142 in a 55 and it was expensive. i don't know all of the circumstances surrounding your situation, but you're probably looking at a reckless driving charge and a speeding ticket. in most states, a reckless driving will get you license ganked for 6-12 months.
shit's about to get expensive, dude....

i had a friend get pulled over doing 74 in a 30. he got like a $300 ticket and had to go to driving school for a couple saturdays. so it wasn't too bad but definately stupid driving that fast.

yeah, the guy doing his job, keeping people safe, is the cocksucker.
it sucks getting pulled over, but the real cocksucker is the dumbass doing almost twice the speed limit.
you'll probably get your license suspended and possibly a large fine, but if you're cool in court they might not take any points off. just go on time and be respectful, tell them you understand that you broke the law and accept the consequences. basically, you have to suck the judge's cock.
