PSA to mt hood visitors this summer

No camps at whistler this summer and beartooth announced they won’t be open either, mammoth closes Memorial Day and Brighton closes this weekend, I’m not sure about A-basin or snowbird but it doesn’t seem like the snow will last much longer. Just a reminder especially if you’re planning on visiting from somewhere else please remember to respect the mountain and pick up your trash. Thank you [tag=253070]@TAS[/tag] for the video I thought I would make a thread to raise awareness.

i honestly don't get littering. i'm pretty self absorbed and even i would never consider it. it's just so inconsiderate, it's almost as if you're going out of your way to do it. My instinct is not to throw trash on the ground, so I would have to force myself to litter lol.

youd hope that ppl nowadays would think like that, seeing jetstreams slow down almost 2yrs ago now, ocean temps @ ‘uninhabitable’ lvls, and 100yr wx events being 3-5yr events. ppl be silly but fuck you to the litterers

LOL imagine being surprised by the lack of respect shown by the most self absorbed generation in human history.

Lol I'm with you on this one, people literally must have to force themselves to litter. Also, never seen littering in action so maybe it's not even real, maybe it's just the wind blowing trash around

Plenty of people still dump their trash on the side of the road instead of paying to get it processed. Drive around the desert for an hour and you'll see a ton of it

Never made sense to me either growing up on the west coast, and never felt like I saw it as a huge issue.. UNTIL I moved to the east coast for a few years, and the level of littering was absolutely unreal on the hills I frequented. It wasn’t even uncommon to see some jabronis chucking empty cans off the chair a few times a day.

I feel like I sound old as fuck saying this, but imo blatant littering should earn you a pulled pass, way before other on-hill offenses might.

Especially with trash cans being at the top and bottom of the lift lines at most resorts. You carried the beer or what ever drink here, can you not carry it for 5 more minutes? I don’t understand these people, I agree with the statement signs that say “Throw trash, lose pass” that some resorts are putting up.

Shawnee peak used to (maybe still?) put a trash can under the summit lift half way up. At least if people missed, the trash would be within a few feet and easy to consolidate. Not to mention that people like games, so making trash disposal a game is pretty clever. We weren’t old enough to drink beers but for sure tried to get our red bull cans and clementine peels in that thing.

my hill everyone trear every barrel that covers a snowmaking pipe as a trash can. These are under the lift for the most part so people try to chuck cans in and miss.

Other big point of litter is top of the park. Every keeps bottles and cans up there and they rarely throw them out so they just accumulate.

For some reason reasonable people that would never litter on a hiking trail think that littering on the privately owned ski hill is fine.

We do have 1 actual trash can with a giant funnel under the one lift and I will throw cans into that. Everything else goes into my pocket or a trash can at the top.

Unfortunately, littering has been around at ski hills forever. I remember my home mountain had piles of beer cans along the chairlifts when I was a kid.

how bout the generations that caused these problems being normalized? + the same ppl being complacent and pretending sumthin like the american dream is real w/out the exploitation of others? it’s never only one group of ppl’s fault ,, ik youre a troll so this just be me yappin my yap

A member of the most self absorbed generation excusing shitty selfish behavior by blaming others.

NGL I even put my roaches/filters back in my pocket because I feel bad throwing them in the woods. Just seems like asking for bad karma to me.

When I was there from the 12th to 19th there was a lot of trash left up top of the park everyday which I didn’t see much of last year. Sad, there is a trash at the bottom of the lift too.

litter is sad for sure. people should speak up if they see someone litter or try to pick up any random blowing plastic

Littering should be punishable by getting your front teeth ripped out with pliers without any Novocain.

karma will probably get these people in the end but yeah I feel you

People will hate but I don't even care ebout throwing shot in other dumpster. Just don't fucking litter.

It.sucks moving into sites where people partied and put no effort into cleanup. Happens all the time but still frustrating.

Hell i was car camping for a few days when crystal opened at the snowpark. Sign says, "pack it in pack it out" bunch of trash near the sign.

Fuck people suck

Clean up your shit, and prolly also your shit.
