Uh... you better check your math skillz again:

40% off of $100 would be a $60 price.

However, if you tool 20% off of 100 you would get $80, then take 20% off of $80 and you get a $64 price. So... no... those are not the same thing. Better luck next time.
 
i am pretty sure the only reason newschoolers exists is to argue with others so you feel better about yourself...
 
and my point...read all the thread and tell me the people giving and recieving advice on skiing is to make them feel better about themselves by arguing, I have bought alot of my gear off people on this site. There are some pretty seet deals. NS is a great site to connect skiers with each other to hook each other up and to give advice. ie. this thread, a public service announcement for a good deal on ski equipment
