PSA: Breck park access restricted to Chair 5

Until Jan 2nd, the only way to access Park Lane and Freeway at Breck is by riding Chair 5 (the double that stops a lot). A barricade and Mountain Safety are turning people away who try to access the park from 4 o'clock (Colorado Superchair). Unfortunately, because there's still no signage at the bottom of chair 5 to discourage non park skiers from taking the lift the de-facto "park lift" remains heavily frequented by beginners and ski school, which leads to outrageous wait times. This is going to be the arrangement during "peak traffic" days, such as Presidents day weekend and the several "Spring Break" weeks in March.

If, like me, you don't think this is such a good idea, Skier Services (970-453-5000) or http://www.facebook.com/Breckenridge might be decent places to voice your opinion.

comented on someones post, really screwy if they are making that the only way to get to the park it needs to be a park lift only!

thats super shitty... do they still have the "terrain park take 4 oclock" sign up by vista haus? if so thats super fucked

If you traverse like crazy and there's enough snow to cover trees between runs you can make it from Rocky Mountain.

Regardless thats bunk

I am poor so i only got the value pass so my pass is blacked out of breck on the peak days so i could give less fucks. No but seriously 5 chair blows cock. we always joke around and yell shit like " avalanche!!! everyone out of the line". when it is crowded. also what the fuck was breck thinking making park and beginner chair the same thing? Keyston is where its at right now.

that's so fucking stupid the only reason they care is so they can quarantine all of the younger park skiers in to one area of the mountain away from the gaper tourists who hate it when people ski by them faster than 2 mph. chair 5 is more often than not slower and sometimes a little warm up before the park is nice
