Has anyone else gotten the yellow light of death on their PS3? It happened to me a few months ago and I want to know if Sony will do anything about it. The PS3 is probably 2 and a half years old now. This problem happened to me and a bunch of friends all around the same time. There is a fix but it's only temporary. So has anyone contacted Sony about this?
 
you're an ignorant piece of shit. there are only a few notable games the xbox has over the ps3.
and try looking at youtube for ylod fixes. I fixed my buddy's xbox with youtube videos in about 30 minutes and while looking for videos I found a few for ps3.
and if you contact sony they will (should) fix it, but I've heard it costs around $120. check the forums at playstation.com
 
I dont care about that, i just wanna shoot myself every time i use the ps3 interface, everything is user retarded.
 
are you serious? it took me about 20 seconds to figure out how to watch dvds, downloaded videos, games, demos, use the buddy list, etc.
after I fixed my buddy's xbox, he gave it to me so now I have both. admittedly I haven't spent more than 20 minutes with the xbox, but I find it much much easier to find things on the ps3. everything is laid out in front of you whereas with the xbox you have to open every window to find what you're looking for.
 
also, it depends on which system you had first. I had the original playstation so I moved up and got ps2 and consequently ps3. I'm assuming you had an original box.
whichever one you first had you'll end up liking more.
but agreed.
both systems are amazing feats of technology for that matter haha.

look up fixes on youtube. thats what i did for mine. it only worked for about 2 moths though, i then had to buy a new one.

i think sony fixes it for $120, but i dont think they will fix it for you after you fix it yourself.
