Ps3 online help

Hey guys im at school and i plugged my internet cord into my ps3, did the updated so be able to get online, but im on call of duty 4 and im trying to get online but when i go to like join a game it just loads for ever and nothings coming up, i know im connected cus i can go on the store site or whatever but i cant get online in the actual game, any help would be great thanks
 
its not your ps3 its cod. sometimes it does that. actualy that happens with every game server is just overloaded and takes for ever to load
 
well yeah i kinda figured that but thanks, should i just let it go? its normal to take like ridiculously long?

Im still having problems, Im home now, and I got my ps3 plugged in, I used to be able to go through my wireless connection, but it wont sign in when im home, and when I turn the game off to change the systems settings or whatever, there is no picture on the screen, the game is off, but the system is on and it should show on the screen cus when the game was actually on it showed it, what the hell is wrong can anyone help
 
Dude I have the exact sdame problem!! With my ps3 and cod 4. I have never been able to play it online, It says searching for game matches and then just keeps saying that but not doign anything.
