Protein and/or Supplements for Increasing and Repairing Muscle Mass?

Okay, so I have three disseminated infections and treatment has really taking a toll on my body. I'm exercising every other day and eating healthy but do not eat that much meat because it increases inflammation and I already have severe joint pain and muscle soreness due to antibiotics and my immune system. Plus, I took a week and a half off because my dog passed away and that was depressing.

I try not to over-train because that can lead to CNS problems but I don't want to under-train and not get anywhere. I'm in the process of rebuilding my body and muscle tone as well as stamina.

I'm wondering what are good, clean protein supplements? I'm looking into buying creatine and a organic Whey protein.

Dont worry about overtraining, its pretty damn hard to reach that stage.

Over training can one, can lead to incorrect reps as you get tired (working out too long during a single session), and two can tear more muscle where you're body has to repair too much of it and not actually gain muscle (you're basically lifting for nothing). Just don't overwork a single muscle too much, overworking you're whole body is hard to do.

Im not an expert, and am in a similar situation than you OP. I establish a workout regime for 3ish weeks and then change it up. Doing the same exact routine can eventually not have you gain as much muscle, and you'll gain more by changing you're routine. Also, its important to get a lot of protein and calories after you workout. It will help soreness and the rebuilding process. I highly recommend stretching as it helps overtime with your overall body.

What about meat hurts your joints? That's pretty damn important to know before recommending anything.

And you are worried about overtraining because your condition has lowered your immune system and and ability to recover, correct?

I've pretty much been active all my life and relatively fit. When I contracted the infections I went went from 148lbs to 130lbs in 5 months, I'm 5'6".

Every time I eat meat my body becomes significantly inflamed and my joints hurt much worse. Bone broth and chicken are okay but red meat isn't that good with the terrible inflammation I already have.

And I had developed exercise intolerance due to the infection, so I'm worried about over training because it increases inflammation and lowers my immune system.

SO yeah, when I exercise I feel like shit and usually lose muscle mass and lower my immune system. I want to gain lean mass without terribly suppressing my immune system, so it can repair my muscles and keep the infection in check.

What has your doctor said in regards to diet and exercise? You need to get healthy first, then worry about getting fit again.

trenbolone acetate

Would be a terrible choice for his situation. Like literally the last AAS that would be reccpmended for his situation.

Supplements are complete bullshit. They're all marketing and don't do shit. If you're eating properly, and giving your muscles the required macro and micro nutrients then you shouldn't have to worry about supplements. Supplements come into play when you can't get enough protein from your diet or whatever. Just train, eat a good supply of and healthy, non processed food.

As far as over training goes, it's pretty hard to over train. See a doctor if you're really worried about it however, before you start any training.

I do eat healthy. The infections use up a lot of essential minerals so in my case I need supplements. Other than meat what are good protein sources that can help build muscle. And Whey Protein made from A2 milk probably would work great in my case because unadultered whey increases glutathione. Another thing I'm substantially low in.

Still I have to figure out a way to not suppress my immune system whilst exercising.

You're just plain wrong.

Grab a bag of whey protein, creatine, glutamine, a greens supplement, a multi vitamin, and some ZMA.

Lift hard, but really pay attention to how you are recovering from the training. Don't do high intensity or long bouts of cardio.

You need to get healthy before you get strong. Focus on getting healthy.

Use to run a lot and for long distances as well as intense short bursts and I'm unable to do this or I'll end up moaning on the ground. So little to no anaerobic exercise would be best with weight lifting. I'll pay attention to the recover process, see if I'm hurting myself or benefiting from the exercise. Already, juice daily and take Zinc and Magnesium. Still low in both of them.

Juicing is for old ladies. Eat the damn veggies and fruit. You need fiber.

I have the body and digestive system of a 100 year old. And just because I juice doesn't mean I don't eat veggies. I eat high fiber veggies most everyday.

Regular snacks like peanuts, almonds, chesse, any type of nuts really. Some high protein yogurts, I drink high protein trumoo (24g of protein) which is like the same as muscle milk and way cheaper. Protein bars are great after workouts too or a to-go snack.

Newschoolers is awesome, but go see a nutritionist of some sorts. They'll know a lot more and will be able to work with you.

Oh i am aware you are kidding. But you literally picked the worst AAS for his situation. There are actually a number of compounds of the illegal variety that would help his situation tremendously, but i know he wont be taking them.

Creatine

Instant 5-10 pound muscle gain

Thanks to water weight. Creatine releases ATP and makes you stronger. It won't make your muscles bigger, just stronger.

13727989:californiagrown said:
Just stahp, or do your research.

I have. Creatine doesn't make your muscles bigger, it releases ATP which in turn will allow you to lift more and be stronger. It doesn't make your muscles bigger unless you train more than you would otherwise normally without creatine.

Coming from a guy who recommended glutamine (hahahahahaha) you're in literally no position to talk. Next are you going to tell me to eat 30 minutes after a workout to maximise protein whatever? All fucking broscience. Supplements are bullshit, they're called SUPPLEMENTS for a reason. They fucking supplement something. If you can't get enough protein, creatine or whatever for whatever reason then use supplements. But if you have a good diet and hitting your macro and micronutrients as well as your calorie intake for the day there is no reason to take supplements. There is no replacement for real food

What do fish, nuts, eggs, and things like tofu do to you? My mom has had RA for years and doesn't eat meat anymore since it causes inflammation as well and that is what she tends to eat (minus the tofu). It will be hard to gain weight, but it is doable. Peanut butter sandwiches could be very helpful for just straight up weight gain.

Creatine draws water into the cells of the muscles and volumizes them. This makes the muscle bigger. It is not subcutaneous water gain, which is generally what "water weight" refers to.

Glutamine was recommended for its immune boosting function... something OP sorely needs.

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

Supplements are bullshit? Yeah and so are rockered, shaped skis. You should be able to ski anything anywhere anytime with DH skis from the 70's... right? Lol. Supplements make life cheaper and easier. Youd know if you didn't resemble an 11 year old girl when you looked in a mirror.

What would be something you'd recommend, out of curiosity? Being serious, and not trying to promote OP actually using AAS's, just wondering.

*I am by no means an expert or experienced. Just interested in the topic and enjoy reading about it. I'm assuming a proper PCT protocol will be followed as well.

First cycle, just Test E.

For someone more experienced, but in his situation:

Test E as the usual base

Deca for joints and ligament pain

Dbol to help with mass gain

Possibly IGF-1 or HGH depending on his specific symptoms, and/or reactions.

Also, I'm not sure if EPO increases red blood cells alone, or also has a negative impact on white blood cells. But, that is one strong fucking drug to increase endurance without killing yourself with cardio.

It also slightly increases testosterone and there is science that backs its ability to increase lean mass but it gets confounded with water weight gains. So, I don't know. Increased cellular energy will defiantly help in my case.

FOCUS ON GETING FUCKING HEALTHY AND LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE ANY OF US YOU FUCKING MORON.

Don't worry about building muscle mass. Recovering from a set of severe infections can require a fuck ton of work from your body. Don't be in a rush to add excess stressors. At your stage, showing up to the fucking gym could be overtraining.

Get healthy first. The absolute last thing you want to do is over train and/or under eat. Your body has a set amount of stress it can take. Don't push past what you can recover from. Adding intense or even mild exercise could very well push you to the point where your body will not be able to recover from your infections.

Say what you will about supplements, but I've recently started using creatine and I have experienced a significant boost in my workout. I've been able to lift a lot more and have had a great boost in energy. It's so cheap per serving, I'd recommend trying it

But aren't newschoolers all doctors? I appreciate you taking the time to give me some input. I'm going to just do light exercise with stretches everyday. I'll take an organic whey protein for glutathione and amino acids and see how I go from there.
