Pros Becoming Involved

I have been on NS since February of 2004 and to see the evolution of the website and skiing has been incredible. But the main thing that I would like to applaude to is the professionals and how they are becoming involved with NS. In the beginning the like's of the pros weren't seen making their own video and stuff as much or coming into the threads and making posts and such. But I think it's sick how the pro's are coming into NS with quality posts and communicating with other skiers and riders.

Basically what I am saying is,

There aren't many other sports where the pro athletes communicate as closely with the fans and other non pro athletes as NS and freeskiing.

Yeah i think its pretty dope too man.

And i wasn't on this site years ago or even a year but i just read a bumbed post in September 2001 about some one asking if they knew anything about Armada skis. Its crazy how far skiing has come in so little time. Can't even imagine what it will be like in 5 years

I think it's pretty safe to say that this site IS the freeskiing community. As much as we on NS like the interaction with professionals, i think they also need the interaction with us. We are there target market, their competition, their audience and more imporantly..their peers. We're all doing the same thing and like prophetmatt said, it's definitely come a long way as the sport and this site has progressed.

as a noob to the site, this is the most impresive part to Ns for me. Like the quanity of members and the activity is impressive but having the guys your see in movies post along side of you is just awesome. Also i feel it shows you how great the skiing comunity is to its own, Pros giving insight to all, just really impressive. Great role models for future superstars (who probably are already on this site anyways) So it end my rant, Props to you Pros out there and Props to people who run NS!

so true,I was just thinking about that today. I'd have to agree with everything that everyone who posted before me said. So there's not much else I can say except NS fucking rocks, such variety within the site it's great I've learned so much more stuff once I started using it and got to see the latest gear/vids/ and other interesting things. Greatest sports community site ever!

100th post haha wooo

They've always been here posting- its just more noticeable with orange names. Most likely the hardcore skiers (which may now be pro) have been on the site much longer than most.

Freeskiing is very interesting in the fact that it is very involved in the technology of the world. It is the first big action sport to have really made such a big impact due to in large part the internet and newschoolers. The spawn on NS could be said as a catalyst of freestyle skiing- although i cant possible give all due credit to NS for the sport it goes without saying that the rapid growth of internet usage and technology helped make our sport what it is. The impace that NS has had on the sport is defintely monumentous and is very interesting to look at in relation to the growing trend of twin-tippers on the hill.

I've actually thought about this a lot. I really think that freestyle skiing is the most tightly knit sport ever, thanks in big part to Newschoolers.com!!

Thread is truth

Definitely more close-knit than many other sports..

Either that, or other sports have too many outlets for communication so there isn't a central place to be heard or get info, which is what NS does.

i agree 100% with this thread, even if i'm here for not longer than a month i dare to say that i find it so amazing, thanks to everyone who contributes and is part of it

this.

also, many of the guys/gals who have become pro's in the past few years were already on here before they blew up, so they have ns in their blood already.

Exactly...Instead of having a bunch of different websites and forums dedicated to "newschool" skiing, like other sports such as say snowboarding, we have one, central spot where everybody congregates. Its awesome!! I'm just glad Newschoolers.com blew up before skiing gets too big and dozens of other sites start popping up everywhere.
