pros and people judging them

i have seen in alot of mags how pros/people complain how there is pros that don't no how to ride pow and other shit its there choice what they ski so i just thought it was dudmb how other people telling em what do

whats your pinion on this

 
Pow is where its at. i think its the essence of skiing. jibbing is cool. but i think that you don't get the same feeling as a waist deep pow turn, playin around with the sluff that comes down....

don't get me wrong. i have respect for whoever has the guts to huck themselves to ice.

I agree that pow is more fun the jibbin/bein in the park. But I think that some pros dont ski it as much because they wanna be a better park skier and win competitions to make money. A nice warm day in the park with soft snow is always fun to though.

i like the looks of jibbing better,, watching pow riding gets boring after a while...

I don't think that there's any way you could say powder is where it's at. Probably 99% of the people on this Web site are into park skiing, and many of those people are either in the east, the midwest, or western resorts where powder simply isn't an everyday thing.

Powder is undoubtedly the ultimate skiing experience, but the powder days are too few and far between for it to be skiing's 'essence'. People will ski over and over what terrain they have access to, and for many it's things like park and bumps...

 
Powder, Whats that? Just kidding, Im from Chicago and we dont really get powder days in Wisconsin. I'm a park monkey all year due to the lack of vertical and snow. Don't get me wrong, I used to live out west and can rip it up in the pow and backcountry. I always love going back. For some of its not really a matter of choice. We ski what we got. I think a true skier should be able to ski everything available to them.

yeah sure they can do whatever they want but there is no excuse for a pro skier who sucks at anything besides jibbing.

 
true, but it takes more skill to become a jibber than just make turns in soft stuff...dont get me wrong, powder is super sick, but it takes less skill...besides, would you rather watcha guy make turns or see a rodeo?

 
I hear ya. I absolutely fucking love skiing pow, and Im sure most ppl on here or on skis (who really love the sport, not the image) would prefer pow over park any day. However if you can throw sick tricks in the park and get sponsored for it then so fucking be it, thats cool, you deserve respect. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want on skis. I hate this little shit fest everyone is having over pros who can throw down in park but dont ski much big mtn, get over it. Who cares if you can throw a smooth switch rodeo and not ski a really tech line in AK? Its not like they hold the xgames on 45degree chutes, when you are in the park throwin down no ones gonna know how sick you are in the bc. Damn I didnt really get out what I wanted to, oh well.

powder is the best, but in the east , you gotta find other stuff like the park to occupy your time. you gotta grow up in the east to appriciate the west

 
I prefer rails to powder....

Powder is fun, but you cant do alot of stuff when riding it....

I like to be able to express myself when I ski, and on the rails, I can do it.

I still like powder a lot, but I prefer a jib session on a kinked rail then a single ride in 2 feet of powder.

i live in michigan, so there is no powder to be had within a few hours drive. I go to Bohemia about once or twice a season, and that is fun shit. I am limited though, since my hill grooms whenever it snows, so there is 'powder' about once a year

hey i think what they are trying to say is that there are some pros who can barely make it to the jump but if they do they can impress. i like to say you should learn to walk before you run. so learn to ski before you jib.

 
ARE YOU KIDDIN QUEBEC!!?? ahhhahah powder is the best it is so fun to ski, there is no other feeling like gliding through deep powder down a mountain, Id much rather be up at alta at 10,000 feet skiing 2 feet of powder on a 40 degree hill and just ripping it and floating through it and flowing down the mountain the hitting a metal rail, but if thats what you like is hitting rails thats cool im all for doing whatever you like best it just suprises me you rather hit a rail then 2 feet of pow

Being a pro means being in the public eye, and with that comes criticism from some people. I would say that its something that comes with the territory, and that pros just have to deal with it. But I definetly would agree that it would suck to have people constantly critiquing what you do.
