The prequel to Ridley Scott's masterpiece Alien, a work of art that has shaken millions of souls through its amazing portrayal of horror in space, in the unknown and the adversities man must face when put against a perfect being, resembling the darkest and most vicious fears and carnal desires. Finally, the rich universe is once again in the hands of its creator.

.

I'm rarely actually hyped for movies, but this could shape up to be another masterpiece by Scott. Fingers crossed! Whoever edited this trailer should win an Award for Best Anything, as it is a shocking display and juxtaposition of sights and sounds.

Shouldn't have stolen that fire.

Well, of course. Most definitely.

Watch both Alien and Aliens, being one of the greatest movies evermade with an eerie beauty that has withstood the hands of time until today, and its sequel being one of the greatest movies of all time as well, albeit in a slightly sifferent manner, as it's more action adventure than horror.

Whoever created that howling sound... I salute that person.

It creeps up my goddamn spine every time.

Its pretty crazy. I think its going to be the underground hit of the summer for sure. At first i didn't think it had anything to do with Alien ( Scott and others were kind of dissmissing it), but then i saw the TED Wayland viral stuff, and the add for the Wayland androids.......gave me goosebumps.

James Cameron creating some awesome sci-fi movies again, Ridley Scott making sci-fi again. All is right with the world now.

I know.

My theory, judging by the trailers is that instead of being xenomorphs, those eggs actually create the Space Jockeys from other life forms to fly the ship(s) to other parts of the universe. Or just some other archaic form of another morph being.

I don't know, but look at that shot with the driver's seat, remember how big it is, then look at the size of the person, or thing, that is changing into the Jockey... HUGE.

...I'll take that as a compliment?

And if I happen to type a lot "fancy" words from time to time, it's to extend, practice and use my vocabulary.

Actually....i think the Xenomorphs are something completely different. Just from the new trailers, i think the original ship that landed on LV-426 is a transport system for a biological weapon ( i.e. the xenomorphs), and that the space jockey is actually just on the planet in status. I think a part of this film is the crew of the prometheus trying to stop this ship, and eventually crashing it on LV 426 to save the earth. Im more curious on what the space jockey is, and what it has to do with the creation of mankind. Im telling you, im just so fucking stoked with this movie coming out.

I hate the word stoke, but yes... stoked I am.

And much like Inception, which analysts were seeing as a bomber and a flat promise, Prometheus could be the runaway hit that no one (most) saw coming, even with TDKR coming in July.

but the trailer gives away so much!

basically the aliens trick them into showing them how to get to Earth, then the aliens try to leave for earth but you can see shots of their ship crashing back down so thats pretty much three of the biggest plot events that they give away in the trailer

Its an updated version from the Orignal Alien movie trailer

Anyway, it looks super sick. I hope it actually is

That's awesome. You hardly see old trailers, or even decide to look them up, but looks like Alien was ahead of its time with the trailer as well.

Na I don't think he created mankind. I think he's accredited for the rise of mankind, helped them out and shit.

Google should tell ya.

according to wikipedia:

In Greek mythology, Prometheus (Greek: Προμηθεύς, "Forethinker")[1] is a Titan, the son of Iapetus and Clymene, and brother to Atlas, Epimetheus and Menoetius.

He was a champion of mankind, known for his wily intelligence, who stole fire from Zeus and gave it to mortals.[2] Zeus then punished him for his crime by having him bound to a rock while a great eagle ate his liver

every day only to have it grow back to be eaten again the next day. His

myth has been treated by a number of ancient sources, in which

Prometheus is credited with – or blamed for – playing a pivotal role in

the early history of mankind.

The David intro was amazing.

This was released some time ago.

.

I like how they're putting the world together before the film drops.

Yeah. They are giving it the perfect hype. Not too much not too little. I'm more excited for this than any other movie coming out this summer though

i haven't even seen the originals, but i'm even more excited now with the new videos coming out. definitely gonna be a huge hit

my favorite space movie so far is pandorum. maybe anyone who hasn't seen it yet should check it out while they are waiting for this to come out. pandorum has a great balance of horror and the mental struggle that they create for the characters getting lost in space. ending is mind blowing in multiple ways.

so badass

i watched it with my friend and 2 girls who wouldn't shut up or stop asking questions so i probably missed parts but it was so intense

ending was a mindfuck for sure

i'm slowly attempting to show everyone i watch movies with that you don't need to ask any fucking questions, that the movie will explain everything to you, by completely ignoring any question they ask.

Went to see this at Midnight GMT with my Brother. It's a really good film, worth seeing!!

It also answers a lot of questions as to how the Xenomorphs came about and how they evolved.

Also one of the "lead" characters, played by Noomi Rapace (Original "Girl with The Dragon Tattoo"), is very easy on the eyes!
