Progressive telemark skis?

So last weekend I saw several tele riders on these crazy skis. On both skis, the inside of the tail was essentially carved out. The result was a tiny tail (maybe like 10 mm) that gently got larger as you traced it back forward towards the binding. Hope you all can understand the description and that some of ya know whats up with these?

do you mean the tail was like a triangle with the point pointing away from the ski on the back

oh i should have been more clear. the outside edges came straight all the way back and it was the inside edge that was carved out. the inside edge was not straight carved out but rather looked like a half moon.

Were they shaped like this?

If so those are Scotty Bob's bobtails.

^no i have seen a swallowtailesque design before, Machete got the right image. i had it wrong in my memory, it was the outside ege carved out. i can kinda picture in my mind how that could help turns but was just wondering if anyone knew the thinkin behind the design.

there super nice every one is custom made to your specks by that a mean flex and topsheat they have some foot prints to pick from.

It's supposed to give you the same turn radius on both edges and keep your weight in the center of the sidecut when you turn and all your weight is on your toe.

It seems like a good idea, but I don't tele so I don't really know.
