I just got my dslr and took a ton of pics this weekend, i shot in RAW because people told me that was better, the problem now is that my computer wont let me upload RAW format pics. Does anyone know of a good free program i could use for this? and btw i have a REALLY old apple Ibook g4 laptop with osx.

+K for all help

Thanks

Well since you need a photo program anyway to edit those photos Lightroom 2, Photoshop CS4, or Aperture all can open RAW files. But your camera should of came with a CD that should enable you to covert them.

what type of DSLR? and did you buy it new? cause most come with some sort of software, unless your using a mac like i think i skimmed by and saw, Canon Digital Program that came with my 40D works well, its just simple free program but it does the job.

its a canon rebel xti, and i bought it used so i dont have the CD, and i dont have the money for photoshop, or lightroom, and im kinda scarred to get a turrent.

well try Photoshops, but i would suggest Canon Digital Professional, which came with my 40D, its simple yet it does the job, google it, ill give it a search as well.

sorry, i think this is what you may want, not positive

Digital Photo Professional 3.8 for Macintosh Instruction Manual

also may want to use a parents computer if there is a nicer faster one with a better screen, thats what i do.

If you don't have a program to convert it you should not be shooting in raw. Use a school computer to convert the ones you've already taken and change it to jpeg.

yea, i will not be shooting in raw any more unless i get a good program, i just didnt know that i couldnt upload untill after i took them, haha.

just go to canons site to download their editor.

why on earth would you ever shoot in anything OTHER than raw...

iPhoto surprisingly supports raw, its dope if you have a mac and don't wanna fuck with any other programs.

yeah iphoto is actually pretty decent for being bundled software. its no photoshop, but its not bad.
