anyone skiing on a 180 cm pair of skis?if so, how tall are you?. any disadvantages for a begginer like me?thanks

The majority of people 5'10-6'2 are riding 170-180cm skis. I'm 5'11 and i ride 177 1080's. I would never ride anything smaller than 170+ above 175 is a great park ski for me. I weigh about 145lbs. A bit bigger skis go faster, ski verywhere better. Aloow you to go bigger, and give you more tail so you can ride it out if you land in the backseat. Tricks look better. Even if your a begginger. If your looking at Mad Trix's get the 173. If your getting the 1080 get the 171.

I'm 6'4' and about 180lbs. I ride Line Dragons (193) and would hate to go smaller (I just set up a deal with someone to buy their old Dragons in case mine fall apart).

kev said it pretty good, most ppl are between 5'10' and 6'2' and use about a 180. so it should be good for u..well how tall r u?

yay 4 skiing

i'm about 6 or 6'1 and weight about 170.I'm betwen the mad trix and the 1080, but someone ofered me some 180 cm 1080, aren't they gonna be too bigfor a begginer?

Xtremist: I don't think they would be too big. I personally would go for the 191 MadTrixx, but I have always appreciated a longer ski with a waist that was a little narrower (I ski mostly east coast but like to go out west once or twice a year - not enough to justify a serious powder/BC board). The 181 1080 should be good, since its waist is larger (80cm) the shorter length shouldn't be a problem.
