Problem with sw ups

I want to learn fs and bs sw ups.

I've found a nice up down box at my snowpark, but everytime I try to do fs sw up I scissor but just cant seem to pop so I slide through the top of the box and do a fs 270 out .

Any advice how to make it work?

and what's the deal with bs sw ups?

that happens to me sometimes you might be going to fast so slow down so you have more time to set for your switch up but also pop up onto the rail with overcrooked shoulders so you already have your switch up kind of set it makes it easier

i learned them this year and now can do them pretty well....there very easy for blnidside just basically jump on keep looking over ur shoulder and turn ur shoulders and upper body the way ur spinning and jump and ur skis shoudl come around under u and spot the rail

For frontside switchups, dig in your leading heel, that will give you some pop. For blindside, look over your left shoulder to spot the rail (if sliding right foot forward). The way I do it is look at the rail behind me as soon as I get on.

I find fs sw ups easier if you don't totally commit to 90, stay looking straight ahead, shoulders square and perpendicular, lined up with your skis, scissor your front ski, and bend and pop.

land on the other side, scissor the ski thats now in front, and you're set up for 270 out. mad steeze.

bs sw ups, the same idea, just commit to 90 (more to 110) more, and look behind you. for this though, its all in the hips, bend and pop and you have to complete turn to 270 (total), then scissor front ski, and sets you up for 270 out.

for bs sw up, you got to think of it as a 360 whit a pop in the middle .
for ft sw up , its a early ft side 270 out whit a huge pop .
