i got some hgh fives and when i bought them i didnt have time to heat mold them so i skied in them a few before i heatmolded them and the were extremely warm, extremely comfortable and i got no shinbang. after i got them heat molded i noticed that my ankle bones and some weird bones on my feet really hurt after skiing and they just hurt to ski in after a while and i got really nasty shin bang. whats with this?

get full tilts.... wait a second....

but seriously what the other guy said. try heat molding agian, maybe it didnt work quite right the first time.

Try skiing them again for a time or two, they may still be breaking in.

However, you may have to get Full Tilts to remedy this.

im pretty sure they are broken in since ive had them for about 2 months. and wouldnt heat molding them again just flatten out the liner even more. please stop with the dumb response like "you should get fulltilts" they really dont add anything

The exact same thing happened to me too. I'm not sure how your shop heat molds them weather it be in an over on just on the heat rack thing. Make sure that you wrap the liner really tight around your shin area and buckle the fuck out of the buckles and make it super tight. It will hurt when you walk around for that 15 minutes but it should mold them correctly to your leg/foot.

I've just been getting the same problem with my Konflicts. I've got them molded and everything, they were really good for a while, but now it seems they are packing out a bit more, and I can't get the buckles any tighter. I'm moving around in them a little bit around the calf/shin area. I wore two pairs of socks yesterday, and that helped with filling out the area around my foot. Maybe I should move to a softer tongue in them? I've been riding with the 8s on them for a while.

I basically had the same problem what i did was had the shop where i bought them heat up the liner and then they squeezed the liner with a press in the area where i felt the pain. i also remolded the liner with thicker socks to give myself more room.

seems like you got the wrong size...

and to the thread creator if theres pressure points take them to the shop to get remolded and put some extra fabric or foam on the pressure points when you get them molded again to give some extra room. i noticed some pain in spots on my foot before i got them molded and when i got them molded i told the guy about the areas and he put extra padding on my foot to give me some extra room, worked perfect.

I thought after like two to three times the liner starts to break-down. But I don't actually know for sure. i think I might go back to the shop and see what they suggest.

yo dawg, we heard yo full tilts were hurting yo feet, so we put full tilts in yo full tilts so now you can full tilt inside yo full tilts.

sorry. I'll now never say full tilt in such a way ever again

word.

I also saw that on the top buckle, the cable can be moved to three different positions. I'm wondering if this might help me out...

However, the middle buckle doesn't appear that it can be moved at all :(

Kinda.

My problem is that my feet/legs are SKINNY as hell. My feet are flat. And I mean flat, like no arch whatsoever.

The middle buckle isn't maxed, but just about, and is REALLY hard to buckle down. The top one maxes out, but I haven't moved the cable back further yet. They are pretty tight, but there's just this TINY bit of loose-ness there that I think is causing the problem.

I have also had terrible fitting boots up until this year, and have ALWAYS had bad shin bang, It's possible that my legs are perma-fucked.

Take your liners out and look at the inside of the shell. You should see where the bolts that hold the shell pieces together come through. Around each bolt head is a circular protrusion of plastic. If these match the point on your foot that is getting wrecked then its a simple fix. Just grind them off. That's what I had to do to make my Konflicts not kill my feet.

the middle buckle shouldnt be really hard to buckle down. the one that should really super tight is the top one. then the middle should be medium and the bottom one you shouldnt have to push hard on it at all. you should look into getting some footbeds either made for you or just get some superfeet, i think that would fill in that bit of looseness and will allow you to adjust the buckles so there not cranked down so tight.

i've always had bad fitting boots too and always had bad shin bang, this year was the first year i've had of great fitting boots cause i can't afford to buy a new pair of boots each year if they dont fit right. try some footbeds.

Yeah, I think I'll be trying some footbeds to take up some of the space in there, I just don't want them to make the tongue lower on my leg (I'm hella tall, and have long-ass legs). I like to tighten down the middle one to keep my heel in place more. But I think I'll try some new shit this weekend and let you guys know how it turns out if you're interested.

It's clear that what you have are in fact not Fulltilts, but imitation taiwanese boots. Look for the T-Wall seal of quality on the inside of the shell.

What i was thinking.

i didnt get mine heat molded but after about 5 days they were perfectly molded to every nook and cranny in my feet and the shell, so im one happy skier.

hey dude i dont have full tilts but i have dalbellos with the ignition liner and when i got them heat molded the shop put small pads on my ankle bones and other parts of my foot where i have problems so that when it heat modled there was room in the spots i needed there to be...o and this price from dalbello that was like a thinier liner that fit over all my toes.....has worked out amazingly! i dont know if your shop did...and i dont know if heating them again will help...but something to keep in mind for the future!

When I got mine heat molded the heel in mine seemed to pack out too much and I was getting heel lift which cause me some shin bang. after skiing two days in them I went back to where I got them heat molded and they put a butterfly pad on the back of the liner and now they fit perfectly snug to my foot. if you are getting shin bang they are probably fitting too loose in some areas. I know one person said to get them heat molded and to tighten them down really tight when you get them molded again... I would not do that cause that is gonna cause the liner to pack out too much. Best thing to do is go back to the shop where you got them molded and tell them exactly where it feels loose/tight/uncomfortable and they will help you out.

For whoever said they're FT's were too loose, you can get shorter cables depending on what size you have now. You can also get new liners if you really need to.

You have to ski them a few days after they are heat molded before they become comfortable. I had flexons, and after heat molding them they hurt like shit for 3 days, then they were amazing.
Wear them around your house while doing homework and shit, it will help.

you dont "buckle the fuck out of the buckles"

doing that will result in a looser fitting liner, leaving them really loose results in a very tight fitting liner. so you want a "average" fit so leave the buckle clamped but not super tight. mine had really bad pain in one spot for 3 days then it dissapeared forever.

Probably been said just above me....

But i got High Fives, heatmolded and everything, and for the first couple days/week of skiing they really did hurt my ankle, but i think its just breaking them in. There's obvously something wrong happened with yours....

Hmm. I might do that AND go back and get them molded again.

Been on them for about 17 days...so the break-in period was over a while ago.

I'm the same body/foot type as you and have been riding Flexons/Fullt Tilts for a long while. Get Eliminators (which go in front of your shins) to help suck up some of the calf volume and buy Booster Straps to replace the standard power straps. Once your liners are totally done replace with a Comp Liner direct from Intuition rather than a Full Tilt Inution liner. The Intuitions are stiffer and don't pack out as much as the Full Tilts.

a very good idea with FT's is to run the power strap directly around the liner, then its almost guaranteed to be snug against your shin/calf

Teh cells in the intuition/full tilt liner will expand if they have room when being heat molded. So heat molding something that is too loose make some sense.

did you get the boot fitted for canting and all that stuff??
