Hey guys so I am 16 and am having annoying break outs. It started off not that bad but then kept on getting worse and worse. I wash my face everyday I wake up and before I go to bed. But thats not helping. I got some medicane for it and I have not noticed anything really get better. I heard both Proactiv and skin id are very good. But I can only afford getting one of them. I am breaking out on my back and my face. Its really annoying and some what embarrassing to take my shirt off when I go swimming. Please help guys, be serious.+k for good comments.

Proactive is actuallly pretty good. The only bad thing is that you have to follow it religiously twice a day. If you miss a wash or two, you'll break out pretty bad. If you can seriously commit twice a day then go for it

Not to be gay but Justin Biebers face is clear, if his face is clear from using Proactiv that makes me want to use it more then Skin ID

i have proactive and it seems pretty good, i mean i dont get nearly the volume of acne i used to, but is still get a tiny bit, but if you don't have very bad acne, i imagine it could clear it all

I had/have a really annoying and bad case of acne. (not cystic, just "pebbly" all over my face) When I was younger I tried doxycycline, tetracycline, and some others I can't remember, and nothing worked at all, until I was old enough for Accutane. I had also tried pretty much every wash/scrub/lotion in the book with no luck.

Accutane has pretty much saved my life and has made my face amazing. Without it my face would probably be a scarred up and painful face. You have to commit to taking the pills, but its not that hard and it is soo worth the time taking it once it starts working. It was the only thing that had/has worked for me, washing my face has never been enough. Most people never have there acne come back after their first trial, although I have had to come back on it a few times.

If you do have a tough case, look into different pills with your doctor and get checked out by a dermatologist who may find a prescription creme that will work first instead of pills. I personally wouldn't recommend wasting money on proactive or skin id because you can get better, cheaper stuff elsewhere, it some aspects it is a marketing gimmick.

Hope you have some success... acne sucks but theres almost always a way out of it if you work hard to find the right fix.

Thanks so much man, I wish I could give you more karma than the limit is. How long did it take you to get your acne away>

I never had acne on my face, but i had it on my back.I'm sure it sucks on your face, but it was super bad as a girl... wanting to wear a bikini and so forth. So uncomfortable so I never really did it.

But now all is well.

What finally worked for me was I washed everything I owned including towels and all of my bedding to make sure if there was any of that stupid bacteria, it would die.

Then I started using clean and clear body wash, the kind with the acne treatment, just over the counter. Just scrubbed the shit out of my body every day. Then took alcohol wipes and wiped the problem areas. Still wasn't working fully, so I started taking a pumice stone to my back.. probably not the best thing in the world for my skin, but shit... that combine with the alcohol wipes, it hurt like hell but within a week of doing that a few times it was gone. All of it. Then I just kept making sure my bedding was always clean and would even fabreeze it with the anti bacterial kind between washes.

But yeah, the broken open acne from the pumice stone + the alcohol wipes was massively painful. Results were oh so worth it.

i just read this yesterday so i havent tested it at all but it said if you put a clean towel over your pillow every night it will clear your face up better than almost any facewash. i would recommend trying that as well.

X Out by Proactiv. It works really really well. It's perfect for you maybe not as good as Rachy's but you probably shouldn't do that to your face...

DON'T USE PROACTIV!

While I can't speak for everybody, that product definitely made my skin worse. Much worse.

If anything, I would reccomend you going to a dermatologist.. People will bug about accutane and whatever, but if you do your research it's not dangerous. Everything is very controlled.

Let me tell you, accutane works. It has helped me out so much.

.

Its been proven by case studies that it infact is the best treatment in general. Do this, and continue washing your face. Make sure your lotions are all non-comodegenic (doesnt clog pores) that can contribute to acne as well

I actually tried tasting my jizz because my ex loved my jizz, it's actually sweet, and i sort of liked it

every thing is getting deleted

I just made a thread and not even a min later was it gone

NS IS WAY TO FUCKING SERIOUS THESE DAYS

if you dont feel like using a towel because its too harsh or you run out of towels( you should use a clean one every night) then i just take a clean t shirt and put it over my pillow, then flip it over the next night. Use each shirt for only 2 nights and get a new one

I have pretty sensitive skin, and i found nothing at all was working for me. I tried proactiv, oxy, and even doctor prescribed stuff. It just dried my skin out to shit that made me breakout more. What works for me is if i just shower before bed, and then again in the morning. Only washing my face in the shower without any type of soap.

Not sure if this applies to you but i did for me and thought id share.

Get antibiotics, not sure what kind I have but they work great, I used to have cray acne but now I hardly even think about it anymore.

Not sure if it's been posted yet, but I've found that the acne wash pad things work really well cuz they're so easy so you can use them more than a couple times a day
