unless you’re 5’1” then you should be riding 180+, no excuses. People make themselves look like assclowns with short ass ski blades. They must like embarrassing themselves.

lmao this is such an internet reply. all my skis are well over my head, i'm not here to argue for short skis, but 5'2" is about 158cm, a person that tall does NOT need to be riding 180s haha

No pro am I, but I ski some 146's sometimes, and I love them.

I also ski several sets at the 60's underfoot.

Short skis are not just fun, they will help you learn to stay centered.

Clearly there are no tall pro skiers in any discipline. At 6'4" it's impossible to find any skis that are taller than me.

ahall is 6'4 and rides the candide 1.0 in a 188 iirc

Darn, got a few thumbs down on this! Show some respect!

In this video I am on 146's maybe 70ish under, then I move to some 162's at 63 under. Short skis be FUN!

i'm 6'4, no matter what they look short. Slopestyle wasnt to fun when you're that tall lmao (everything was just so small)

Back when Andreas Hatveit was around , he was quite tall , his skis looked tiny too. Its just how it is for us, especially when brands usually don't produce longer next year models and we kinda have to ride them too.

But to get back on the initial matter , long skis look better. fact.

I don't understand you. I guess one needs to have a sense of humor.

BTW, what is an e-cookie?

Hit up iggy skiier he can make you some 191 kartel 96s. 188 candide 1.0s, 191 icelantic nomands, 192 rossignol black ops, there's plenty of long skis at least you're not 6'8.

Do they still make a 204 candide 3.0?

My homeboy Mango! I think he is at least 5' 8" based on my height. Maybe more.

Yeah, thats why I said I "thought" so I'm not totally sure on his height either.

Well, I have known him since he was knee-high to a grasshopper. He and Hunter Hess used to be connected at the hips back then. Still love those boys!

Short Race skis and SL skis can be mad fun but in my opinion anything else sized down is just a handicap

IDK, I really like skiing my 146's They are quite stiff, and dig trenches because of that.

When I said race skis, carving skis fit in that category of being fun for sure. If it's stiff and narrow it will probably be fun short, especially just cruising around at bachy not skiing anything steep

I guess steep is a relative term. I got some 180 Atomic GS at 23R. Mikala ran an event on them. Maybe you can teach me how to ski those puppies. I got them, then the virus shut it down before I got to try them.

Realistically it doesn't matter how tall you are, it's all about your weight, your ability, the build of the ski, and what you're skiing. Someone who's 6 foot but is skinny as fuck and weighs 130 lbs, isn't an aggressive skier, and only skis groomers and park will be just fine on something in the 175 range. They don't need 184+.

I agree in the ability and style of skiing, but height does have an affect on your ability to bend a ski. A 6'2" 180lb man will have more leverage (about 7%ish depending) on a ski than a 5'9" man of the same weight. Semantics I know but height is definitely a factor in the grand scheme of things
