Prior?

ive mounted quite a few pairs and have not been super impressed with what i've seen. The wood is incredibly soft, the skis feel heavy and the overall build quality just doesn't seem to be there

Damn, that’s not what I wanted to hear. The search continues.

On that note, does anyone have a recommendation for a 106-110 charging ski that's less stiff than the Cochise, but still decently stiff with a traditional mount point? I'd like to support a smaller company if possible and prefer top sheets that stand out. I don't want a Wildcat or DW and the Countach top sheet is not my favorite.

Are Wrenegades less stiff than Cochise?

It sounds like our PIoneer could meet what you're looking for in a ski. at 184cm it's 106mm underfoot, with no metal and so softer than the Cochise, but stiff ash bars and a carbon matting full-length to give it decent stiffness; a -6cm mount and an (epoxy protected) wood veneer topsheet that definitely stands out. We're a small independent European ski company and have some stock in North America and so could ship them to you without high import charges.

DM me if you're interested

4frnt MSP 107 is actually a pretty sick ski that might work for you. Also, not a small brand but the Mindbender 108 is such a fun easy ski to charge on.

Check out fatypus skis. The M5, D-vice and A-game are all 5 point design skis in the width range you're looking for. They are super light and quick turning and are a good combination of hard charging and playful. If you went with the M5 I'd go with the athlete flex.

you can also check out the D-sender thats more of a big mountain chargey ski. 112 mm so a little wider than you are looking for but a great ski. And all skis are on sale atm for $575 so that's a plus

On3p Wren 108. Superbly solid but knows how to party. Literally perfect for you and checks all your boxes. Kinda everything I wished a Cochise type charger could be.

Fischer Ranger 108. Not a small company but such a fun ski. Rides like the bastard child of a big mountain and a race ski. Understated top sheets but classy.

4Frnt Devastator might be worth looking into as well.
