Print On Clothing

there are a billion ways to do it
I like screenprinting the most, there is also heat pressing, which I dont think is as good as quality.

You mean screen print?

Like, you have a design, and you want to print it on some clothing?

The most common ways are screen printing, heat transfer, and another process I forget the name of but it has to do with straight ink. Just called ink-print I think.

Screen printing is where you force a substance called Plastisol through a screen with super tiny holes onto the clothing and then the ink is heated and cured, and you get the rubbery/plastic type print that most of your shirts probably feature. The process is much longer than that but the concept is pretty simple.

Heat press is just what it sounds like, you have a design on a big piece of paper stuff and you put a shirt and the print into a bit iron-like device and it uses heat to "melt" or transfer the design onto the shirt or whatever. Most commonly used in tourist t-shirt shops where you can pick your piece of clothing in whatever color you want and then pick the design you want on it, that way the shop doesnt have to have extra stock of every shirt in every color with every design on it. Ink print (someone correct me if i'm wrong) is another process where the actual fabric is dyed with ink to create the design or letters on it. I have several shirts that are like this. They usually fad with time and don't look as nice, but I believe it's cheaper and faster than screen printing so it's easier to make money off it. Again, i'm not 100% certain on that method. The other 2 i have used many times when I've done my own clothing line and sold stuff here on NS and other places. Screen print is usually the most expensive, and you have to have a shop do it, and in large quantities etc.. but it last longer and looks better than the other 2 methods.
