Pretty sure I just tore my calf muscle

I was working out and felt a pop in my calf, now it hurts to walk (I can still stand). It's definitely in my calf and not my Achilles.

Has anyone torn their calf before? How long does it take to heal?

I plan on going to the doctor tomorrow, I just kind of want to know what to expect.

All I wanted was to get into good shape for ski season...

Just by reading this I have a feeling you never stretch after working out

I definitely stretch before I work out. After doing rehab for two ACL surgeries I am fully aware of how beneficial stretching is. To be honest, it probably happened because I'm overweight. I'm probably just being a hypochondriac. I'm not sure why my first reaction after getting ice was to post to NS.

It could be your achilles though, as that tendon goes pretty far up your leg (don't know if it is still called achilles all the way up). Anyways is your foot kinda not able to push down?

Anyways best of luck. I tore mine 7 months ago and am still recovering. So let's hope its not that.

It's a good idea to stretch before and after. The Doctor will tell you what happened when you see him.

Yeah, misread. I do dynamic stretching pre-workout and static stretching after working out.

I've heard that stretching too hard before you work out can actually injure you. Since your muscles aren't warmed up
