yo, just got myself a pair of k2 extreme. was wondering, since the edges are slicing hard, how can i jib. can i hit rails right away, or do i have to manually tune them up or...what?
You can hit rails as soon as you want. By sliding rails the edges will detune and you will slide better everytime. If you dont want to wait for them to break in then you could take a file to your edges just underfoot so you wont get hung up on rails and what not.
i'm personally a fane of letting my skis tune themselves (when they're brand new), but you can take a file to the edges... but, even better than a file is a gummy stone. you should be able to find one at any shop
You should dull your edges with a filejust today, i picked up my new invaders at the shop and went strait to the hill.... its honestly pretty scary your edges will dig into the rail/box and make you slide really bad.
I wouldn't be worried about it, 2 runs through the park and your edges will be dull enough, just watch out for boxes at first I tend to get hung up more on them. I have heard that detuning your edges helps reduce the risk of edge cracks, not sure its its true but it makes some sense.
