how the hell do i just split a friggen clip up, i just downloaded and this shit is pissing me off. Help would be appreciated!

Razor tool top left, looks like a razor blade. or press"c" and click where you want to slice

jake hit it on the head, that is if you're talking about once you already have it in the timeline. If you're talking about when you're previewing a shot and maybe only want to bring in a certain 2 seconds instead the whole 10 or whatever then you want to use your in and out points. Press the in point button right below your viewer, it'll look like this: { , when you want the clip to start, and the out point button ( } ) when you want the clip to stop. Or you can just press 'i' for in point and 'o' for out point.
Based on this question though i highly suggest you spend some solid time and browse the help files and manual if you have it. It'll help a ton and save you a lot of frustration. It's an overwhelming program at first, but once you understand how it works you realize it's really not complicated at all. Take some time to get to know your program.
