Pre Season

I went to alta yesterday with the homies. Theres a little setup by wildcat, I've heard pc has something too.

Junkyard/bone zone at btown is probably your best bet for preseason. There are other setups but a lot of them are hidden in the woods/built by crews who don't want you there

Alta or bonezone will be your best bet. I know Alta will be blowing snow all this week so there will be plenty to play around on. Bonezone/Brighton should be blowing snow soon and will have a ton of rails set up

My crew changed our plans and decided to go to Brighton, but both are right at the base

I was at the junkyard today. Enough snow to shred for sure. There is a rail and a couple other jibs set up

I was too but they took then out at the end of the day to continue snowmaking where they were set up. Don't know if they did the same down below but there was another rail and a couple jibs down a little further.

I imagine the army of snowboarders will have it setup again before I'm done with breakfast.

Thinking about heading up to Alta tomorrow. Is it worth it?

I'm cool with seshing a rail, but I also have a touring setup if any actual runs can be had.

Not sure what's up there. I have been at brighton setting rails the last 2 days

Sounds/looks like the storm rolling in for this upcoming week packs more potential for accumulations which will be tight. I heard anywhere inbetween another 6-10" w/ the possibility of lake effect (due the great salt lake being so damn warm from sept/oct) which will probably give us more. Not a whole lot of people expected the flurries and such to hang around as much as it did last week, so really anything can happen. Lots of things align perfectly for Utah then we somehow get snubbed.

Shadow can tell you where the best snow in the wasatch is. I think his name is Cats now. He's the resident pro and best skier in the state so he can tell you what's up and where to go

Bone zone was closed today so me and some homies took a rail to pc the hiked hella far and got some great riding in

Nice! let me know if you go again. I would definitely be down.

I've heard of people touring to the top of Alta. Like it was said before, BZone is closed so they can get the cats out. I'll most likely head up to Alta tomorrow midday when I'm done with classes. Look for the guy with the ginger beard if you want to say hey.

Skinned up Alta yesterday, the snow was so so on the lower half, the cats have been pushing snow around prepping for next week. The snow was good at the top, but I'd assume the cats have likely found their way to the top of collins by now. The snow on the south and east facing slopes was pretty good, but it's still early season.

Jam at the bone zone saturday. They have a pretty sweet setup going right now.

I just hope that the jam doesn't block things up too much. I really hate it that they have snowboard only rail jams.

It's me. I changed my name.

they might be starting to lock all the access road gates on the PC and Heber/Midway sides for anyone in the Wasatch back/PC area. Not an issue for you SLC folks obviously but I just tried going thru the pass via Wasatch State Park and that fuckers got a big ol chain and padlock on it. total boner killer but I guess they dont want people up there anymore, unless you got a cabin or something up there.

Will try again tomorrow, don't got anyone to shred with and wanna go slide around for a few so ill probably see some of you up there. wont be able to shred much next week due to work and school so anythings better than nothing at this point.

Disclaimer: for those who don't know Alta as of sunday night is closed to uphill traffic to prep for opening day on friday. The base is roped off below the Collins lift. Don't waste your time driving up LCC for nothing.

snowbird and solitude are also closed. Brighton was busy this morning (at least for before sunrise)

Be careful out there though. Lots of wind loading and shooting cracks.

Anyone been out for a walk in the BC lately? What are the conditions like? I'm thinking of checking out some N facing slopes in White Pine or Grizz tomorrow, as high up as I can get. What's the depth like? Wind crusted?
