Pre-comp Practice

Was wondering what everybody does to practice before a come

Personally I like to put in my headphones and get a feel for the set up and save all big tricks for the comp rather than busting my ass trying them in practice and just lap to save my legs and maybe hike a few times. What do you guys do?

before i come, i build an exact replica of the course on shredsauce, and then watch some porn while drinking 32 Oz of gatorade

Back in my park competition days I used to take things seriously, but slowly stopped caring and my practice time started turning into just sitting around with friends enjoying the day socialising (it's not like you're doing any skiing on a comp day). What? drinking a few beers in the morning before a competition isn't considered practice?

Honestly though, you SHOULD try to get your comp run down in practice. Knowing that you can do the line you want when dropping in during comp time is a huge stress reliever.

As for big mountain competitions, if you can visualize your line in your head there's not much more you can do as far as practice goes so I usually just go skiing with friends and not even think about the upcoming days of competition.
