Anyone into pow surfing? I've always been stoked on it every time I saw a video of it but couldn't find myself justifying dropping $400+ on a grassroots board or even more for an asmo. I finally had enough and did some research to see what my options were. I was stoked to find a small business out of Michigan making some for drastically less than anything else on the market. (http://www.getlongboards.com/powder-surfers.html). For $215 you get a high performance pow surfer with a 4001 Durasurf base, 5 ply maple core, walnut topsheet, cnc cut eva foam grip, and coiled surf leash. I couldn't pass it and pulled the trigger on one. Holy shit these things are top notch and ride extremely well. Pow surfing in general is stupid fun especially on those low coverage days, high avalanche danger days, or even if you are lazy and don't feel like getting all of your ski gear together. I definitely feel the hype and fun. It is not b.s. marketing at all. What are everyone's thoughts on pow surfing?

1. It's not my company but I'm a rep for them and support what they do so fuck off accusing me.

2. Not a shitty line it's just as high quality as a grassroots and other brands but actually made with better processes allowing it to be lower price.

3. Also minipulating people to buy from me how? I didn't get the board for free I bought it. And I'm stoked on it and just wanted to spread the word.

If you want to keep being an internet ass hole that's fine but I'm going to enjoy the outdoors.

Instead of coming on here and saying "Hey guys, my family and I have this little company and we feel our product is awesome and a great value, check us out!" you decided to lie and try to deceive us into buying your crap. With a business ethic like that, I'm certain your products are equally shitty.

I wanted to issue an apology. My original post and any replies up to this point have been utterly ignorant, rude, and done improperly. I was not in the correct mental state when posting this which skewed my decision making and caused me to go about it in an incorrect way and leaving much up to interpretation. I never meant to manipulate anyone in any way.

I, along side with my brother and dad started the company back in 2009 but since then I have not had strong ownership responsibilities which have decreased even more the past year (personal choice as I have needed time for school and self evaluation) and have really just helped try to represent the company and spread word about a local company who does not outsource any portion of the manufacturing process which is very uncommon this day in age. Now I realize that this thread tarnishes any positive opinions about myself and I take full responsibility for my actions as even though my thought processes were not clear and skewed, it was still myself who submitted the thread and I cannot blame anyone but myself. Please do not let my poor actions change your opinion about GET Longboards as a company. They do make fantastic affordable products. The powder surfers especially are high quality. Saying I pulled the trigger on one was not the correct wording. I purchased materials for the board out of pocket as a way to offset the profit loss for GET. So technically I did not get the board for free but I did not pay retail. It was similar cost to that of a pro-form discount. I do believe that the product is something that many people could enjoy especially those interested in powder surfing but cannot justify a more expensive board. Up until the release of the powder surfer I had always wanted one but could not justify the cost. In my experience these ride very similar and have the same build quality as other on the market.

This is not the way that the business operates. I have acted immaturely and improper. I am sorry for my actions and I will no longer be attempting to market or promote any products especially while in an intoxicated or incorrect mental or physical state. My apologies for any ignorant and blatant comments or statements. This will be my last post on Newschoolers.

We started pow surfing with old snowboards. We would just rig up stomp pads and a leash, depending on the board a few guys would cut out a swallow tail. Super sweet, super fun. I like to take mine out on sled days, I find its a good cross over that way.

The best pow surf I have ever ridden had a convex shape to the board, like a rocker, but also sided to side ... poor description I know, but I am sure you can visualize it.

2 things I learned early in pow surfing;

- never use a bungee cord as a leash

- wearing a helmet is a good idea
 
HAHAHHAHAHA im dead even the apology was golden, kinda feel bad for the kid in a way. But everything could've been avoided if like said up^ there he/ you just said come check out this company im a part of.

On a side note though if you live in a city or somewhere like for me its at least a 2 hour drive to get to the mountains where would you use one of these?
 
A buddy of mine got one and I tried it and it was a lot of fun

Parents got me one for Christmas, they r pretty dope

How is the traction pad? it looks like it would hold snow. and the boards seem a little on the short side.. then again, I am not rippin' the UP ..so they may be great for their local region... any insight on these points?

.... but, nonetheless, that's a super cheap price point for a board with a ptex base... so aside from the company being owned by individuals with somewhat questionable character it seems like a fair deal.

But To tell you the truth, I have ridden the Grassroots pow surfs before, and they are really sweet... a bit longer, better traction pad and they even have a similar price point.

Grassroots is also making boards shaped bases .... I rode one this year, and its was mindblowing... they guys who make them actually ride them, in real terrain ... os there is that ....plus, they don't have a bunch cunts spewing shit about them on the internet... I would happily more for a better product.

Naw bud, its different because he lied about not working for the company. If he had come clean, and said he worked for them at the beginning, he would have gotten a positive response. It looks like a cool product, and I'd like to get one, but I don't feel that I can really trust the manufacturer now.
