Powder skis

question is it worth buying powder skis like the atomic bent chetlers or volkl one powder skis to take to colorado with me for 2 weeks this winter and then every winter on out? I ski the line chronic now and live in maryland on the eastcoasr

Or you could just rent while you are there. That way you get new skis every year. You can try differnt models out and you can ride them like a rentel ie don't worry about trashing them.

You can find some proven winners from the years past for around $300 with coupons. Sometimes under if you get lucky on eBay or something..

But again, therein lies the problem. Each brand and model have different feels and characteristics that require demoing to really understand which one fits YOUR style. The secret is tho; When in doubt, and can't demo, go blizzard and on3p/moment if your a charger, and go k2/line if you like to get crazy, go 4frnt if you want the best of both worlds.

Definitely this. Try a bunch of different KINDS of fat skis (traditional cambered, 5-point, reverse/reverse etc.) and figure out which you like best before pulling the trigger for sure.

I plan on just buying the previous year ski when I decided to get a pair. Any word on the atomic bent chetlers ?

I actually made a monoski out of one of those. We built a small riser plate that was wide enough to mount two bindings side by side. Considering they have a wooden base and no edges they were actually pretty fun. My mate actually managed to get them down a zipper mogul line which was so impressive to see.
