Just heard of them. Maybe its an american thing, but i have newer seen it before. Sounds kinda oldschool. Are they any good, and where do you by them? I have lost one ski in powder, and all in all i have probably spend round 24 hours looking for lost skis in powder. Still love it tough.

Now im gonna get 20 replyes saying like "get better, so you dont loos your skis -haha." Dont even bother, please.

usually powder ribbons are just fluro bits of material that you tie to the brakes. just find some & tie it on.

ya they are bright neon colors, like 5 feet in length and tie into your ski. ravel up the end and stickk into your boot or up ir pants. so when u crash you release the neon stip and you can see your ski in pow.

never heard of that, i hate losing skis, i lost one in a my back yard in about 6 fet of snow after crashing, took me 3 hours to find it

Yes, just what i mean. Do they sell them, or do you just find yourself a piece of lightweight material and tie it up?

Dude we of the new school should toatlly all start rocking flourescent ribbnon as the next trendy ski thing. It would be even sicker to drill wholes in your tails and tie them on so they fly behind you while you're in the air.

they sell them at all the places i have been. but they probably cost alot camparedt o a $2 ribbon

^ not sure if you know this but hes not talking about a leash, like the skis would still release and fly off to where-ever but ya dude im sure any bright flurescent color would work *like a ribbon* i have never used them, a lot of east coast visitors where em at alta on pow-days your shop should have em.

powder starps are about as cools as rear-entry ski boots...

NO self respecting skier uses them!!!!!

and thats a fact - Jack

get those RECCO tabs. you stick them under the binding and most resorts have the device that can pick it up if you lose your ski in the pow. also if you ever drop your cell fon or ipod the machine can pick up electronics. even if it is turned off.

where do you get these from? and what if the mountain doesn't have the device that can pick it up? the pow ribbons are probably much ceaper too.

Oh no fucking way i would newer use a leach. Just imagine jour skis rotatin round jourself like a chopper while tumbling down the mountain. You´l get your head cut off.

So at the hieght of cool.

What you do is attach a length of some floresent material to each part of your binding (does not have to be long) and then you can usually quickly find them in deep snow and thick fog, this tecnique also works with a rock tie the ribbon to the rock and throw it down a fogy slope and it will help you know where you are going and the angle of the slope.

it had snowed 2 inches over night and they said it wud stop, but it ended up snowing all day and we got 2 feet while we were on the mountain

they said we wudnt need straps so we didnt put them on

i would argue that the cool sob digging around in powder up to his nipples looking for his ski while i float by is the only jack lacking self respect.
