what for? so MSP can get a bunch of bullshit awards that mean nothing so they can put them in there trailer in front of someone doing a front flip in mega slow mo? no thanks.

besides. the magazine's called powder. i've never been offended that you don't cover newschool, since I thought the point of the magazine was for 40 year olds to write about the last face shot they got and how it made them in touch with mother nature.
 
This is really funny! No saracasm intended.

But to your point, this has no affect on how many video awards MSP wins. Reader Poll and Video Awards are unrelated.

What he said. I really think you guys should stick to what you do best (and props to you, you do that really, really well).

After all, your editor, Tom Bie is a telemark skier. Until the magazine's internal culture changes, you probably won't be able to cover the new school scene in a meaniful, authentic way (Tom Bie, on pins, doing an urban jib - now that would make me sit up and take notice!).

powder however is still a sweet mag..Freeskier only wishes that they had the circulation of POWDER even though i love them equally. everyone should vote..

If that had anything to do with greatness, everyone on this forum would be reading Ski.

Besides, has Powder ever been through a formal circulation audit by ABC? Doubt it. I doubt Freeskier has either. So both companies probably fudge their circulation numbers to some extent.

The one thing you can't fake, though, is content. Right now, when it comes to new school, you'd be a fool to claim that Powder covers very much of it. Even though the last b/w pic of the box in Park City was really sweet. That was a nice cover. But one cover does not a magazine make. . .

Powder mag will never be as good as SBC skier, which has its fair share of newschool as well as crazy powder eating trips at the other end of the world... Thats because its canadian, and its not a pretentious magazine at all ;)
 
I think if you'd like to see more newschool coverage from Powder you might want to show some demand for newschool athletes. I'm kinda thinking they'll cover who ever the readers vote most, hence the purpose of the reader's poll. Now go vote. You don't even have to vote for a big name, it's for whoever you want. Dig deep.
