Powder Mountain- Lighting Ridge ?

Anyone done the $12 snowcat ride? How long does it hold powder after a storm?

Has anyone hiked to the additional peak after lighting ridge, worth it?

I just got back from there. I took the cat up yesterday which was 2 days after an 8" dump and there was plenty of untracked. The ride itself is 10-15 minutes. It was well worth it.
 
went to pow mtn this past thursday, and it was eppppic.

I've never been before and we took the cat up once, and it was way fresh, untracked. well worth the $12. By the time we got down and back over to the ticket office for another run, it was real borderline if we were gonna make the last cat. we rolled over and just missed it. so we just boot packed up the cat track (about 15 min - im not a big hiker) and saved ourselves $12 and skied another run of complete fresh.

So in simple terms, yeah its worth it for sure.
