Powder/glade skiing mountain

everything is, unless you want to drive 10 hours south you are just going to have to wait for snow like the rest of us. This shit sucks
 
since I am out west I have no idea where the best current conditions are but a good bet would be Mad River Glenn...less uphill traffic due to the only lifts being a single and a doubble so it dossent get super icy...and the glades are killer...its the only mountain in the east that realy remindes me of a west coast mountain.
 
Jay actually hasn't been affected by the lack of snow in the east. They've gotten a few feet in the last couple weeks and more is on the way. But it sucks where I am in MA.
 
Yeah, Jay is the only mountain in the true Northeast that hasn't been completely screwed by this winter. Stowe and Smuggs have fared pretty well also.

Excellent glades at both.
 
Stowe has been decent this year. We definitly need more snow due to that rain a month or so ago but you can still find some stuff if you hike. I haven't been to jay yet but it seems to be ok.
 
Jay, Smugg's, and Stowe are really good right now, snow is falling almost every night. Skied Smugg's on Wednesday and it was awesome- super good snow in the woods. And they were re-doing the smaller "park" and had some things getting resculpted over on the t-bar.

Sugarbush and Mad River aren't doing as well, from what my friends have said.
 
skied mad river yesterday, sugarbush today, jay tomorrow. hoping jay is considerably better than the other two. most of what i skied at mad river wouldnt be open anywhere else- bare areas (bigger than bare spots), shitty bumps (since when does mad river have underdeveloped bumps in february?!) its scary to be there- its like the grim reaper of skiing came and killed the mountain. i was alone at mad river, however, and because of that didnt ski serious trees. i skied trees at sugarbush today and they actually had pow in spots and good packed pow everywhere else. the trails were hardpack/ice/loose soft stuff on the edges. the wind has been really bad but thats why the woods are good.
 
Saddleback it has Casablanca biggest glade in the east plus its currently open unlike alot of other major glades around and they have picked up a few inches of snow here and there should be OK
 
haha, yeah, but not so much for all mountain. I was there a week ago, and its a great spot, (barring the joey hordes), but very little for steeps. Park was as good as ever though. Go n. VT for big mountains.
 
Wednesday.

Magic Mountain.

THE SNOW SHOULD TAPER OFF TO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS AND FLURRIES PRIOR TO MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY."

Best mountain in Southern VT for actual skiing. Great tree runs and steeper stuff and not a lot of people either.

Get out there Wednesday and have at it!
 
Cannon has got a tun of awesome glades, mitersille has a tun to....you gotta look around or go with some locals and there is awesome backcountry/ off map stuff too.....last week it was good they got most of there glades open and more snow on the way plus they got a pretty good park and its cheap
