Powder Day Problemo!

Just wondering how people get to the mountain and ski first tracks.Like most other weekend warriors (I think), I live about 50 mins from Sugarbush, my home mountain and we're supposedly getting a dumping tomorrow.

I'm wondering how people can drive to the mountain when you do have 2-3 feet of snow outside and can't because of the roads.

Is this just a problem that everyone has to deal with? Or is it just my case.

Can you get a pow day if you live 1 hr from the mountain?

My powder day problem is getting geared up without waking up my roommate. Then its a two minute walk to the tram.

Theres this magical thing called setting an alarm and waking up early so you have time to drive there before first chair even with the road conditions.

Up at 5:30, on the road by 6. In the lot about 7:45 in line by 8 for a 9 am opening. If you live in a place with snow, you should be prepared to drive in it.

It for sure is, but I like to show my curiousness. We do share a dorm room sized room though. I am responsible for him getting up and on first box on more than a few powder days tho. Lucky Im so nice.

my issue is some of my friends hate waking up early to ski. they'll complain about the lot being full when they get there at 10 and I'm just like lol wake up earlier.

First you need a jeep or truck to get through the snow then you get up really fucking early to make sure you're the first one there and bam first tracks are yours

Where im staying right now im literally a five minute walk from the lift station, and you can get absolutely beautiful powder that is at max a 10 minute hike from the chairlifts.. And the best thing about it? Its empty 90% of the season.. I dont think anyome could ask for a better mountain

50 mins? thats nothing try 4 hrs to anything decent.

but i caught 2 storms this year real easy....be able to/afford a last minute trip and drive up the night/day before the storm hits and leave when the pow is gone

1. get up 2.5 hours before mountain opens2. get in car

3. drive to mountain

4. get in line early

5. ski

6. what the fuck could be so hard about this
