just wanted to know if a longer ski is better for pow than a shorter ski? this question will determine if i buy next years lizzies or sfb

what kind of pow like wide open powder bowls yes a longer ski will be much better, but if you will be skiing a lot of trees and tight areas with deep snow a shorter ski that you can turn faster will be better for you

It depends, If you are a Beginner to inter, you will probably not want anything longer than what you usually ride if not shorter. If you rip, you would propabably not ask tht question, but you might want just a bit longer.

I ride 179s and i am 177ish cm. my skis are a biut taller than me and i ride them eveywhere. trees, bumps, park( a little long for park), chutes, bowl, etc. OI think it depends on what you are used to. I would say buy them long, let them kick your ass for a while, then ride hard once you are used to them.

10 cm is gonna make a huge difference in the trees. were i you, i would go longer. im 130lbs and ski on head im103's, one of the stiffest skis on the market, and after skiing them for ten days, they dont kick my ass any more.

Obviously. I bigger surface area gives you more float thus making it easier to ski in powder. What a silly question.

the only reason im askin is because i used all-mountain skis before and now that im out of school i have more money to spend on skis so i want to buy some pow skis.

Absolutely. I'm 6'4" and I dropped down to 182s from 190s this season, and the shorter skis were a lot easier to maneuver in tight trees and actually didn't make too much difference when making sweeping gs turns in wide open bowls.
