Pow skis flex?

First off I will say that I am from the east coast and don't know much about pow skis. I realised lately that there are 2 kind of pow skis. There are some that are really soft noodle-like (hellbents etc.) and there are some really really stiff ones (gotamas and stuff). Why is there such a big difference? Which one is good for what? I always tought a pow ski had to be a noodle but now I'm confused. Thanks

im also an east coaster but i think the stiffer ones are a lot faster and way better for dropping huge cliffs and stuff. the softer ones like eps are good for bottomless pow that your jumping around in. think bug mountain vs. pow stash

hahahahahaha what? I just asked what was the difference , as I ski the east i don't need a pow ski, thanks for reading the thread...

Soft skis (ex. hellbents) are awesome for shredding powder, dropping cliffs, and even jumps and stuff. Stiff skis are better for cutting through chopped up pow (end of a pow day, hellbents get a little scary), and will be much more stable at higher speeds, and variable terrain.

A ski like the EP Pro would be an awesome untouched pow field ski, a ski like the new Mothership I would bring to AK for heli skiing.

its like with park skis: stiffer skis charge harder + more controlsoft buttery skis are more for the toying around....
