Pow ski selection

Yo, looking into getting my first pow ski. My park skis are 182 and I’m 6’/6’1’’ there’s only 1 size left for the ski I want. 193 is too big for me?

No, pow skis are supposed to be long I am 6 feet and ride a 187 JJ and it has been no problem. I'm sure the extra centimeters will be no trouble.

You’ll be fine as long as they aren’t some super demanding ski. I’m 5’9” and ride a 186 which is well over my head.

Faction prodigy 4.0 is what im thinkin

I'd say you'd be fine with a 193. The Prodigy 4 has a lot of rocker and taper which will make it feel shorter than it is. And Faction skis tend to measure 1-3 cm shorter than their stated length.

It'll take a bit of time to adjust, but you'll be rewarded with more stability and better float.

Thanks, so I’m deciding between prodigy 3.0 and 4.0. What would you recommend, mind you I’m not skiing deep ass powder all the time

Where do you ski? What's the average pow day for you? The 4.0 isn't actually that wide, so I think it'd still be a lot of fun when there is only a bit of fresh snow. The 3.0 will still do well in pow, but if you're going to have a 2-ski quiver, I think going with the wider 4.0 probably makes more sense since the 3.0 would overlap a bit with your park ski.

This winter i'll mostly be skiing on ice in Ontario with my park skis. Though i have a jay peak trip planned as well as whistler trip for a week. Next winter ill be moving to whistler. What do you think is my best bet?

4.0 - it's only 112, would be perfect as a daily.
