POV Cable Splice?

I have destroyed my VIO POV 1 cable yet again. Since I have 2 messed up cables, I was wondering if any one has ever spliced the cables together before? It looks like a coaxial cable? , braided wire over tinfoil? over 7 coated wires.

It looks near impossible, but at this point I have nothing to lose, they both don't work

I may have jumped the gun. My camera works now. The picture was distorted, pixilated and all funny colors, I saw a gash in the outer sheath and assumed the distortion was caused buy a crushed cable. Just as I was about to cut the cable in half and begin splicing I decided to check the image again. I would have fuck that up for sure.

I just taped the shit of the cable for extra protection, but my question about splicing still remains, as its just a matter of time before I really destroy this cable.

I don't think you could do it very easily. I have tried it with a 4-wire setup with no result, I think it takes a lot of prescision.
