Potential of freeskiing

When most people think of how far skiing can go they most likely think of quads and future spins. But i was wondering if there are any other tricks that you guys think just about set the limit on freeskiing. Stuff like trips of rails or doubles onto rails?

+K for good answers

Really wanna see a rodeo 1

Seen it on the trampoline, but the weight on your feet might screw it up.

You cant really set a limit on any sports potential. Especially a sport progressing so quickly such as freeskiing. 20 years ago people weren't even thinking about triples, now theyre pretty common. Theres no telling whats gonna go down a couple decades from now.

The question is will it ever get to the point where we start to lose multiple pro athletes a year as a result from going too big?

Will it ever get to a point where the risks of progression outweigh the reward?

I got you on that rodeo 1, I got it on lock on trampoline and I'm thinking about bringing it to snow this year.

There is a limit for everything, and we are coming very close to that right now. How much farther, higher, or bigger can a person jump? It gets to a point where the risks far outweigh the rewards.

The possibilities are limitless. Freeskiing will continue to develop from the streets to the park to huge peaks.

I remember back in the day thinking, "Wow, we've come so far, what could possibly be next?" Guess what, there's ALWAYS something next; whether that's a new grab that no one's done before; a new take on an old grab to freshen it up (tweaked safety for example); stuff like surface swaps instead of just hopped switch-ups; and so on.

It's like fashion. Clothing designers aren't going to say "Well, we've designed everything already, so we're not going to make a new line this year." They're going to come up with something new. Skiing will continue to do that every year, and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IT'S NOT GOING TO BE ALL ABOUT DOUBLES AND TRIPLES ON AND OFF OF RAILS.

You can say that has already happened in some aspects of the sport. CR, Shane, Arne B, Sara. Will that stop the progression? No. Will the Risk outweigh the reward? Well for some it already has. Hall just announced he is done competing. Some say he is over it, No, He has to push himself so hard and knows the reward is no longer within reach. For him the cross road has been reached. Than being said there will always be that younger hungry kid willing to push it that much harder and besides I was invincible until I reach 23.

You are the most stupid person on whole NS when it comes to tricks, do you even know what axis does rodeo spin on? Lol enough hate, if it exists show me a video of rodeo 180.

Rodeo 1? Wtf, I'm trying to picture that in my mind, I can't even wrap my head around how that would be possible.

Anyways, I can't see it getting much bigger than quads, which will be done in a few more years. After that there's just too much potential for serious injury. It wouldn't be worth it. Like when you saw Kenworthy and Bobby Brown wiping out trying triples in this year's ski big air, they weren't seriously hurt. But the airtime required to get a quint or higher would leave one seriously hurt on a bail.

the best you will see is a whack flip where the weight is shifted back and you land switch ''pretzelling'' in the air , most of them are whack.

But I always felt like a flat 1 could be done. I've always pictured them super alley pop

kinda like the flat 3 at 3min32

Meh, olympic gymnast skiers are and have been doing quads and quints with future spins for a while. Personally I think it's more impressive to see tricks like cork 3s and 1s. Also skiing rails should continue to grow, traveling circus and b-dog are definitely pioneering what skiers do on rails. And tricks that skiers are already doing will keep being done on bigger and sketchier things. There will always be something bigger, sketchier or more technical to do, and there will no doubt be people crazy enough to try it

you basically do a flat 3 but as you come into landing you shifty your hips around and try to land switch. I've done them on the trampoline but I have a hard time seeing it work too easily on skis. Mabye vinny cash will do one, and mabye i'll try them we will have to see.
