Potential for Skiing with Exoskeletons

Imagine how much farther skiing could go without having to rely on our weak muscles to slow our momentum when we hit the ground.

A product like this would revolutionize skiing

Just like Ray from Archer with his bionic legs lol.. I always wish they showed him skiing on them since he used to be a racer.

You shouldn't be relying on the ground to stop your rotation, you fucking idiot.

If you turn the rebound all the way up you could Ollie over buildings

Pull up off the lift, Nollie from the peak to the terrain park and hit the biggest disaster of all time. yesssirrr haha

momentum != rotation

you fucking idiot

I prefer the natural method.

As soon as my kid comes out the 5lb leg weights are going on

I won’t tolerate this. I appreciate that you were trying to defend me, but you can’t be spreading misinformation.

There are two kinds of momentum, linear and rotational. In the original post, I was referencing the linear momentum that a skier has to kill when they land a massive drop.

Tell me, how do you rotate without momentum?

You cant have rotation without momentum but you can definitely have momentum without rotation. Dayman wins this round

You would think that in your 20+ years on this website you would have figured out that there is a quote button

bro when someone says "momentum" in a normal conversation they are obv talking about linear momentum. that image doesn't add anything to the conversation, you and skierchode deserve each other on this one

Realistically we’d need some brain stabilization I doubt I’m landing in the literal parking lot without getting concussed

Fellas is it gay to study physics ???

i think you meant to say 'imagine how much FURTER skiing could go..'

that is my pedantic addition to this super production conversation

except, you should obviously be running the new float X, not the super antiquated DPX2

Not a good idea. Your knees are meant to break before your skis. If you have this, you'll break all your skis! Imagine going to power nollie and SNAP goes your core from the all the boost

Mad good point, I would much rather lose my knee than my HG's or 9's.

Impossible to have an good idea that hasn’t already been done these days smh

Man I feel you on this. I'm always jotting down ideas and always finding out they exist already. Some big, some small. Just gotta run with it. Sometimes it's market timing or being first and other times it's how you advertise your product. Shit I just noticed that digital rear view mirrors are becoming popular; thought of that idea a solid 5-10 years before this was even a thing as a way to improve visibility for semis (https://www.arirobot.com/2020/12/11/digital-rearview-mirror-for-the-automotive-market/).

You still might have an idea here. If they had a scalable, affordable, great idea then you'd expect it to be more popular. Doesn't mean you can't improve off of the concept and market better as long as you don't copy their design. It really depends what patents they have. Also depends on the age. Tablets existed well over a decade (Google gridpad) before they became popular but initial companies scrapped the idea due to lack of demand. Your idea might be ahead of time.

The other day the homies and I were talking about how the terminal velocity of a squirrel is so low that they can survive a fall from any height and be totally fine.

Hey! don't trash the DPX2. the new one is fancy tho.
