I've got the same compass. Some of the reviews complained that the clinometer gets sticky and doesn't work well in the cold. I think they have since fixed that issue. I haven't used mine outside in winter but put it in my freezer and tested it after a few hours and it worked fine. I would suggest you do the same to be safe

Bought mine used so it may be an older model if that used to be a problem. Tested it now after a few hours in the freezer and it seemed to work fine up to about 35-40 degrees both ways but it was pretty sticky after that. Not often I will go in that could weather but when I do I will keep this in mind and have it inside my jacket to be safe.

Bought these beauties from a real homie who worked with HG, no edge cracks or major damage at all. Still sad HG is done, they put made some of my favorite ski movies and edits. Still I can’t wait to ride these.

Well the Misty mountain I bought was apparently out of stock and it was the only one in existence under 140 bucks in my size.

Picked up this one instead. Cheaper which is nice.

Haha yes it is, bought the truck in Portland though. And yeah it was a scene when I walked around inside.

I just coped this one to get back into mountain biking after couple of years... I was on a budged and this was a good deal at 250$ used(last years model 2018). Still had most of the original stickers on it tho, didn't see much use at all. Upgraded with some sweet flat pedals and I'm now looking into bigger suspension.

Never though much of the sodastream before but they're cool as fuck! Just a CO2 canister, tap water, +/- flavoring. Carbonated flavored water cans were starting to add up each week

Serious question why not just get a 4runner instead of a truck with an almost useless length bed?

Honestly not a bad question, I did think about that a lot, but I like the ability to just throw shit in the bed without worrying about it smelling or getting the inside of my car dirty. I know it has a basically useless bed but it still has more functional space than a 4runner. They end up being about the same price anyway.

Yeah, this was my rational too. The 4Runners are actually more expensive than the Tacomas right now, and for someone that always has a ton of shit in the back of his car, a bed I can literally spray down with a hose is an AMAZING concept.

Case and point - got some dirt today for a garden we're planting and it was nice to just chuck it in the truck bed without worrying about getting the inside of my old Subaru dirty.

finally picked up a new set up..stoked to support FA, copped the rest at my local shop. Stoked to get back into skating.

Idk anything about this subject but is there any functional purpose to get different rims other than better appearance?

Yes! For me I bought aftermarket 18 inch rims opposed to the stock 19 inch ones. By doing this I get a larger sidewall, more options for tires, and much cheaper tires. With summer tires on having a larger sidewall helps with comfort, handling and protection from potholes etc. In the winter having a larger aspect sidewall allows for more traction. (The taller and skinnier a winter tire the better traction). Also wider aftermarket rims allow you to get wider tires which helps with summer performance. In addition often aftermarket rims are of better quality (forged or flow form) which means they are stronger but also much lighter reducing rotational mass which matters much more than unsprung mass. Here are the rims I bought a few months ago. I switch between winter and summer tires for ski season.

It can change the size of your tire which can change the desired traction for whatever surface.

I do it so I can have two sets of tires mounted at the same time. Local shops will switch mounted wheels for me for free whenever I want. I don't really care about appearance on the ski car so for the 2nd set i have a mix of used rims that are the same size. All painted black tho and I've had people tell me they liked "the look" lol

So basically you have a total of 8 rims with tires? 4 for winter and 4 for summer? That would be convenient to switch out winter and summer tires without having to take it somewhere

Yes 8 wheels for one car. One set for summer and one for winter. I could switch the tires myself but like I said I take it in for a free switch at the tire shop whenever I feel like it. I don't remember but I think it was like $50 to have a set of tires mounted and balanced so you come out ahead on the wheels in just a few swaps.
