First time skiing out west, visiting a buddy and skiing Snowbird for two days

You’re gonna have a blast. Cottonwoods just got nuked with snow, pretty sure snowbird is well over 400” on the season and it’s mid February. Be sure to drink a ton of water to combat altitude sickness. I get light headed every time I go up LCC. Have fun dude! Snowbird is one of my favorite places to ski.

^as an Alta skier for the last 21 yrs, you're in for a good time. We're having what we'd call a "good average year"

If this year is considered a “good average year” I couldn’t imagine what a “great” or “historic” season would be in Utah.

Are those like 750”+ years? Is every other day a powder day? Seems like all my friends out there have had blower pow days as least once a week this year. Alta/bird looks all time.

I really hope people do some wicked shit in grizzley gulch this spring. It’d be really cool to see some of these younger crews get a chads session going.

I am fucking broke now

Bet you'd be stoked with that haul though!

I just bought

12 Rockstar energy drinks

12 powerades

12 drink bottles for work

Hopefully flip them off to the boys for some cash for the upcoming season

We've gotten much more snow so far this season than all of last and its still apparently just an average year. Ive had about 12 pow days of over a foot this season. New storm brewing this weekend it looks like in both canyons

Wanted to buy the HG safari’s back when they came out but never did so I bought this Tall T to remember, she’s beautiful.

Was going to get some new pant, but hard to pass up this jacket with a 50% discount. Hopefully this jacket will last allot longer than my previous Sweet gore tex jackets.

Thank god I didn't leave my job, otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford nice ski gear. Also about to get Hakuba valley season pass in a couple of months ;D

350 for the whole setup 192 length. First mount been in storage 3 years, guy used them out here for 2 months this year but they're in excellent condition, one ptex repair that is flawlessly done. Bindings fit perfectly.

Should be set for climbing season now! Hype. Stoked to have a thin rope and a harness that can actually fit a trad rack

Nice. Curious if you will like the Misty. I have a Cadillac that I use as my big wall harness because it’s so comfortable and can hold lots of gear. However, I dislike its gear loops for free climbing. Much prefer the rigid BD loops for ease of unclipping gear when in a hurry.

I've heard about that. I'm curious as well, but I found it for cheap so I'll just throw it on MP if I don't like it. Putting doubles on my current harness is a shitshow for multipitch. Not enough room at all.

Been needing my new ski pants for the last 5 seasons but never justified buying it as I always just use my instructor pants. This may be my last season working so I guess it was about time to pull the trigger on some quality pants.

And this, mostly for the clinometer to check if I'm in avalanche terrain without taking up my phone but also wanted a better compass.

I've got the same compass. Some of the reviews complained that the clinometer gets sticky and doesn't work well in the cold. I think they have since fixed that issue. I haven't used mine outside in winter but put it in my freezer and tested it after a few hours and it worked fine. I would suggest you do the same to be safe
