Post your camera set up

ya, im gonna call them tomorrow and see, if they try to give me the run around ill cancel the order and go with B and H instead

Good luck. Did you use a credit card? If there is a problem you can call the credit card company and tell them to not let it go through.

I just very recently found out that my good buddy's mother has this camera that she used once for a buisness video and now has no use for it anymore, it looks pretty sick, I have no idea how to use it or even what model it is

yup, used a credit card, called them today and they said it was on backorder for 2-4 weeks even though it said "in stock" on the website, seemed pretty fishy. i cancelled the order and made them give me email confirmation of it, which they did. And about 5mins ago I ordered it from B and H and it should be here in 3-5 days, I cant wait!

i havnt had much of an oppertunity to work with a century, do you know any outstanding qualities that make them worth as much as they are?

the glass on the century lenses are really high quality so the image quality is much better than the mx3000 anyway atleast with the MK2..... the only drawback is that it's prone to lens flare especially when shooting at night but it's still worth it such a good lense

no way man, I HATE the fisheyes. I rarely think they look good. Maybe with timelapses.

Actually I am a big fan of their wide-angles. A camera is only as good as the glass its filming through. Why not put good glass on it?

I am really into the film look, and fisheyes rarely make it look like film. I like me a suuuuper nice wide angle.

i agree 120 percent! i think everything filmed with what your camera comes with always looks best. And it also means if you can get the show w/o using a fish eye your a more talented filmer ;)

That is why I adore 16mm lenses so much. Take the Angenieux 5.9mm for example. That thing is SO fucking wide, yet there is almost no distortion at all, I don't notice it at all.

plus with 16mm cams, since there is no fixed lens, any lens you put on it will look as good as the "stock" lens because it automatically becomes a "stock" lense, if you get what Im saying here.

I hope that in the future, all prosumer 3CCD cams will no longer have fixed lenses. That is one of the very few flaws with the HVX.

what tha fuck! i didnt know it was possible to get 180 flat image, what is it like 10000000000000000000000 dollars, and whats the widest flat image they make for the prosumers?

Heres the bugger:

Angenieux5.9T2.jpg

The widest flat I've seen is the Century wide angle (0.6 something, Im getting one soon), but I could most definately be wrong. I actually hate lens choices when it comes to digital cameras. Its all looking at a lens through a lens, and that is never as good as interchangable ones.

How do you guys afford all this? ive been saving up cash for a long ass time for a good camera but still dont have nearly enough for what i want...Having to buy ski equipment and my car never let me do it, now with gas getting past 3 a gallon i dont see myself buying anything soon

with all the high end equipment being flaunted, i'm reminded of the adage "it's the photographer, not the camera"

i've seen some amazing shots from point and shoots that i've had a hard time duplicating on my dslr setup (which, with a good 3 grand invested in glass, is far from point and shoot). sometimes it's just the attitude and the amateur's willingness to try anything without the knowledge of limitations.

Few...That was tough! Hey look, I even measured the amount of light falling on my subject.

I should like...do this for a living...or something.

i guess since we're comparing penises...

real men use the RED ONE.

by the time of it's release, it'll be able to accept Super 35mm PL, Super 16mm PL, and B4 mounts, as well as all Nikon and Canon EF lenses. i would sell a kidney to be able to use that camera with some of the Canon L-glass i have access to.
