Winter Park is holding Patrol Tryouts on the 7th. I start my summer gig on the 8th. I know the grass may never be greener on the other side but it would still be cool to get my name into consideration for their leadership. Plus its gots lots of cool history, and one of my current mentors at work spent over 10 seasons there after working at Berthoud back in the day.

I know its unpopular but i really wish it wouldn't snow at big sky on thursday. been wanting to ski the big jumps without worrying about skis for a fat minute

I did research and found out that Brighton technically was established before Alta was. Brighton opened in 1936 and Alta opened in 1938. Alta however was a miners town way back when in the late 1800's and was training grounds for the 10th Mountain Division. Monty Atwater pioneered the idea of shooting artillery into the sides of mountains. Crazy cool shit.

If the website doesn’t include a simple yet vital detail like a picture of the rocker profile, or the turn radius, or the weight or the mount point, the company is a joke. I don’t care which brands this falls under either. It’s like they don’t want my money. pisses me off so hard that I need to go do outside research to find fundamental information about a ski.

Im so genuine about disliking days where it snows. Woke up to no snow thinking it'd be a great jump day get to big sky and bam its nuking which is cool i guess but i just want to ski jumps

It was so easy to meet park homies when I lived in the mountains. I swear, being in my 30s and in Denver - I think [tag=167225]@partyandBS[/tag] is the only one of my ski friends here who can actually slide a rail on skis.

Honestly warms my heart when I see lessons for sit skiers, blind skiers, muscular neurological conditions, etc. Skiing is already hard enough and to get out there with a disability earns mad respect. Saw a kid at Beaver once with a walker-like frame skiing and they were having so much fun. I was like damn I need to appreciate skiing more even on bad days.

We all have our beef with gapers and beaters, but I've met some really nice people this season from the Midwest and/or locally around CO that aren't you're typical rich gaper but are just genuine people who work hard and want to just take their kids out for a few laps, and thats cool too.

I went cat skiing at Powder Mountain for the first time yesterday. There's some really cool terrain there, but the access is currently really tough. The lightning ridge area has a ton of sheltered powder and some gnarly steeps, but it takes 3 lifts, a bus, and a cat ride to lap it.
Word on the slope is they're going to add lifts to the bulk of the snowcat-only terrain. If all the planned expansions and upgrades work out, they could really have a top-tier resort there, especially if it stays uncrowded. I get why people are upset about the semi-private model and expanding pass quotas, but there are some really good changes on the way too.

is RMU legit? My boss sent over pro-codes for their 2025 fleet but the YLE's look pretty cool honestly. Wiley's ski design for the 4FRNT version were pretty awesome.

Last I had heard before them opening their Truckee location was they were dying.
