I ended up staying home cuz their ig said that only Valhalla was open. love Valhalla but tomte goes hard if ur just tryna work on a couple specific tricks…. Plus I didn’t feel like makin the 2 hour drive and I woulda got there kinda late

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that freeride skiing/snowboarding is now an official sanctioned FIS event. I felt the same way when they announced slope + pipe being Olympic events too but it has been cool to see locals, personal friends of mine, and favorite riders compete in them, so thats worth something. Henrik shouting wu tang on NBC never gets old.

I just don't think freeride should've gone this route. It doesn't make sense. Just please keep the core fun principles of it alive and not turned into World Cup Downhill vibes. Freeride stands out purely due to the vibes at the top start gates and finish corrals. But it would be cool to see 20k+ drunk euros going wild at the bottom.

And Red Bull needs to up their fucking game and bring back Cold Rush, let skiers compete in Natural Selection, and put on more cool freeride-y shit for us skiers. Stop spending money on Andri Spagettis bullshit videos like "Yo Im gonna do a backflip and then ski into a train thats stopped"

sucks I’m working opening day but might try to get up this weekend. Hyped to see bridger open so early compared to last year

Praying to god that whatever park I'm skiing tomorrow is at least decent and not too crowded. Expectations are low tho I'm just glad to be skiing

when you guys get new skis do you use them right away or wait until your old pair is unrideable. Prolly only apply to park riding but maybe not. I have a pair of new wets mounted up, and even though my current wets have a fair amount of edge/base damage I could easily get a few months out of them still. All my friends be telling me to bust them out though

Started skiing my new park skis on the mountain right away cus they were so fun and used my old ones to hit PVC tubes/street/rocks

if armada made an arv86 w this top sheet I'd buy it

I respect snowboarding but sometimes snowboard products go so annoyingly overboard on the edgy branding, genuinely surprised it's still like this in 2022.

I want to detune my Fauna Omni’s more, maybe change the base bevel, but I don’t want to lose grip all mountain because they’re also fun to actually ski on. Struggles.

Try beveling underfoot?

Old guys that board two weeks a year have not progressed past 2008 aesthetics

I want my plaid jacket and white pants again. All oversized too. Shit was immaculate

Be the change you want to see in skiing...nobody stopped making jackets and pants in XL and larger

shit tho i kinda wish skiing would go back to 2008 aesthetics ngl ?

Any year around 2010 is just immaculate. I remember being a little Jerry kid and wanted hellbents so bad, but didn’t know what they were.

my whole ski kit is from 2010 also I just realized, crazy it’s still holding up well.

I envy y'all who can get hyped about ski boot news + new products. It's gonna be at least few more seasons before I need new boots.

Back in Colorado and there's actually snow everywhere. Perfect for skiing some urban. I love that I can't ski any of it and didn't even bring my ski stuff

that is so strange i absolutely hate buying boots and getting them to be pain free

The fact that every park skiing tutorial out there says to learn jumps on side hits outside the park first seems to reflect a lack of good beginner features available in most terrain parks. I still say every park should have a row of just wedges to flat on the side. Seems like a low effort feature to put up and it would stop kids from hitting all the rail "jumps".

would brands have anything to loose by selling singular pieces of equipment? Singular skis, singluar heels to a binding etc

If they are direct to consumer probably not much.

But I can’t think of a binding company that even sells themselves. They all source it out to shops and other companies.

once you start dealing with warehouses, factory’s, and supplies I can see it being a real pain in the ass.

Company’s like grass sticks will let you buy a single pole if anything happens, if you already owned a pair.

What would Look lose by actually working with CAST? I just what to be able to do the second ski kit on a pair of new heals with out paying out the ass for it.

Same took about $100 of work to make my last boots remotely wearable. They're perfect now so i dread the day they finally give out. Fuck ski boots man

Going up to Mt. Bohemia this week and am so excited. Ready for a break from park skiing after hitting it really hard so far this season

Skied reverse sidecut skis for the first time today. They were awesome in the few powder stashes I found, and they were miserable pretty much everywhere else

Hyyype, I was just up there, snow should be good cuz I think they got a couple more inches. Was a lil packy cuz it was like 35 when I was there but with temps lower now it’ll be good

lord of the rings zones have the best pockets rn

Just sold my WETS…. Haven’t rly touched them since I got my wide plusses, and I like the wides more tbh. One of my ski hill sons needed a new set and needed to upgrade into Vishnu gang and I gotta make rent so it kinda just worked out perfect
