Post whats on your mind

I need career advice… I’ve been doing an internship with a medium sized engineering firm this summer and I mindlessly told them I’d consider working for them after school earlier this summer. But now they’re being really adamant about me staying with them and I’m not sure if I want to. I didn’t really enjoy what I did for them this summer, and I want to move to a different part of the state because I’m so bored of where I live now. I feel like if I stayed with them, I’d never leave my hometown.

I don’t think I’d have too much trouble finding a job with a different firm somewhere else so I’m not too worried, but I feel bad about breaking the news to my boss and my coworkers because of the effort they put into me. But I’m going into my senior year so I gotta decide soon.

Forget other people. You live your life for you, not for them.

Swipe right if you like squats and stocks. I can bench more than your ex and diversify your portfolio in the same day.

LMFAOOOO. Pretty damn close with the name too and spot on accuracy with the description.

CT was wild yesterday.

I think you’ve already got the right idea no offense but i wouldn’t wanna live in that area either. Too warm for me lol. State College is sick and so is the Pittsburgh area if you stay in PA. Nice to be in a little colder spot and have access to springs which is probably the coldest and snowiest spot in the state.

that being said I would just be very vocal with your appreciation of them but tell them that you gotta live your own life. Seems like you’re a hard worker so I’m sure they’ll understand. One of those things where you’re allowed to feel a lil bad but you can’t let that affect your decision too much if you really wanna go. I’m in a super similar situation rn so you’re not alone I guess. Let me know how shit goes.

on days people work, you wake up thinking about work, plan your morning around getting ready for work, spend a significant amount of time at work, and then have to commute back. that is so much commitment to someone elses dream that you should absolutely never settle for a position that doesnt align with your dreams.

is it even a paid internship? is there anything you can do so that when you leave or the next person comes on that its an easy transition? also, give them feedback as to how they could have made the position more appealing as well.

Doesn’t come manual. Only the pdk. It would be slower in manual and the RS is made for max speed. No point in manual.

I know auto cars are faster than manual now.. But manual's are hella more fun to drive. Thats why i bought my 2024 jetta GLI in manual. IDC if its slower I prefer to enjoy the drive which is something i don't get with auto's

Need to get like a 2010 or something back when they did offer manuals..

The special edition manual versions of high end porches are always worth more for a reason

They still offer manuals in the lower models. I believe even the standard gt3 is offered in manual. The RS spec cars are made for fastest lap times. PDK and other twin clutch systems are just faster.

Pdk’s are not autos. They’re twin clutch semi manuals. Most autos are slower than manuals. Twin clutch are faster than both. Completely agree about the fun of driving a manual. My sti is manual. The gf’s mini is manual. But an RS if not about driving fun. It’s about maximizing a lap time.

Part of why they are dying is because it’s a lot of investment for not a huge market share. In the past, they would perform like 1,000 synchro/bite point tests. Now it’s like 10,000 because consumers are less tolerant of a rough shifter.

I had a 2001 996 manual in a previous life. Fun car but so impractical. You could drive clutchless matching the revs, feeling the engine and feeling the pressure through the drivetrain via the shifter. It was smooth.

Some Swedish dude had 911 gts as a winter car. It looked surprisingly good with a roofbox. Second favorite car after the RS6

That reminds me of Jon Olsson. Have you ever seen the cars he used to drive on the mountain?

That dude used to compete in FWQ. He was at least half-ski bum.

I remember Jon had a lambo with roofbox like 10 years ago. He has had million different 800hp RS6s too. He still has a crazy collection (including another RS6).

This is the 991 which does have a 7 speed automatic or 6 speed manual, this version was the automatic version, but on the track you rarely needed to change the gears tbh, I spend 90% in 3rd and occasionally went to 2 or 4th

Ah ok. Assumed it was a new RS which doesn’t have a manual.

So many people have been getting DUIs here by driving the wrong way on the highway... I mean I guess I get it once or twice, but in the last few years I think there's been dozens of this exact case including one where a pedestrian was killed. I just don't understand how this is such a big problem. How do you get onto the highway going the wrong way lmao?

Few F-15s flew over the city very close together. Always cool as fuck to see.

Saw a couple f22s fly over the highway on my drive the other day and was hyped. So cool.

Saw the weekly dual flight of B1s blast over my house last night headed to Wyoming to drop some dummy bombs. Gets the juices flowing every time

Crazy that without the Mongols, they probably would've become the world's strongest nation a long time ago

Tbh even without the Mongols the empire probably would've split and fractured once again, if not by the Mongols than by the Manchus again or some shit

So excited to get back to college this September, there is this girl I’m so excited to see again, she lives out of town, but will be back for school. I got to talk to her for about an hour during the last week of the semester. But I never got her number. Anyways she is just the best, like it’s so hard to describe, she’s just such herself and full of life, just an amazing person tbh, so I’m trying to get her number of course and I got this book date planned was gonna buy her a book, and read it with her, and there is this dope pastry shop too. Omg I’m jussttt ugh she’s gotta be the one boys!! :)))

broooo glad your excited but were gonna need you to settle down and come back to earth. who’s to say some guy who did get her number hasn’t been hittin that all summer?? what if she comes back with a boyfriend, the distance breaks them up, she rebounds for you but never is fully committed because she thinks the distance was what ended it so she just fucks with your emotions trying to deal with hers. its a college tail as old as time itself lol
