Post season depression

hey guys, its been about a month since my season ended and I'm hella depressed. All I can think about is skiing and I've tried skateboarding but its just not the same. I've thought about mountain biking but it costs me too much and I'm just lost. So now I'm stuck in school and its just the same days on repeat without something to look forward to during the weekends. I feel numb without skiing, anyone else?

From my experience: nothing is better than skiing, mtb is too sketch bc I like to bail safely, I didn't like skating when I started but it's my second summer and it's becoming more fun because I can land tricks on demand and I'm finding friends to skate with. I don't have room for a summer set up or a trampoline so I'm getting my skiing fix from jumping on pvc tubes and waiting for trampoline facilities to open. You could also try a sport completely unrelated to skiing (I'm gonna try rock climbing for the strength aspect).

you can also make some tramp skis, or buy the ski addiction ones, and make a jib rail, or buy the ski addiction one. i made my tramp skis out of pvc board and snowboard bindings(i can include pics if you want). it's really fun, just make sure that you bend the pvc. mine broke after doing a backflip lmao

op has realized he is a numb emo

get a mf bike dood. a solid bmx complete can be had for like 300-500 if an mtb is too exspensive

go camping

go to the gym

go climb a rock

go fishing

get a job and work all summer so you can ski more in the winter

etc.

etc.

Find a hobby, I like skating and bouldering in the summer. There’s lots of other things you can do though: sports, lake life, getting a job, drugs, magic the gathering, working out for the ski season, video games, fishing, drinking on the porch with pops, arts and crafts, world of Warcraft, or NS shitposting are all fun things you can do during the summer.

Get creative and find some different things that might spark your interest. Somedays keeping it light like a nice lil day hike works, or going big and ripping trails on a bike all day. Summer jobs also help a lil bit too but its easy to get wrapped-up in working everyday all summer to go ski all winter. Time flies by and you think you hate summer, but you get to the fall and realizez yeah there were some stuff you missed out on, So don't be afraid. Get after some stuff.

Get in touch with your local freestyle team, they will usually organize trips to water ramp camps or trampoline. Summer is a great time to learn new tricks for hitting jumps.

Get a Job make money loose like half to the government then keep the rest for waffle cabin waffles

Get a double kick tail cruiser skateboard. Half longboard half skateboard. Way more fun and flowy with the ability to carve, Ollie, grind rails, ride bowls, etc.

that said It makes me so jealous seeing my insta and NS feed full of you guys having fun skiing while its the middle of summer over here in NZ

Bruh hit the gym. You can get stumps for legs in 8 months if you are focused.

Squat rack saved my knees so many times

Feels op. Only thing I got to offer is there is a point, a point you become so obsessed you live every part of your life for skiing, it’s so deeply a part of you and everything you do eventually your mind leaves, it’s no longer present, it’s gone skiing leaving you a shell that just carries on until it can awake best season and you live almost as if you never left the mountain, bc your minds always there.

I can also suggest scratching ur cornea with a stick covered in mud. You will possibly get a rare fungal or parasite in their and the infection and treatment will be so painful you won’t even think about skiing for the next 8-10 months that’s there

I'm in vancouver and i would like to try surfing but the oceans are cold, dunno where to go also but yeah surfing is a great idea

Tofino is pretty fun with a reputation for good waves, also surfing is pretty much the closest you can get to skiing without skiing (better than water skiing imo).

You're in Vancouver?

Just go skiing bro. It's volcano szn. Sneak across the border to baker or just ski one of the 80 million glaciers in bc

I got fucking mulch in my eye 3 years ago, just a lil piece, like a splinter, caused this fucking abscess about an 1” below my eye the size of a walnut , I had to have surgically removed, fucking bs, the only hung I could think of is this gonna go down and go away before I have to put goggles on.... these were my June 2018 thoughts ....

Do video editing.

Rock climbing is a cheap sport thats easy to get addicted to. I even got a job by just showing at the climbing gym 3 days a week.

Get a used cheap bike for a few hundred bucks and rip around anything you think you can ride.

Life isnt boring; your just a dull person

jump from cliffs into water. idk where you live but it’s warm enough in vermont starting this weekend. cliffs, trees, structures, anything

You can ski all year if you want in the PNW. Go hike for it if you are feeling it. If you make it a point to go once a month you will never have more than a few weeks between turns

Skiing all year is the wave, even if you hike 10 miles with an extra 20lbs of ski gear to ski 100ft vert... worth it
