I believe strongly that perhaps Harvey should consider removing the Top Contributers list and the postcount next to someones name. Keep postcount in their profile or whatever, but perhaps replace it with a member number next to their name in posts. Post count is becoming way to big a deal, and people shouldn't even care about it. It's part of the reason that there are so many useless posts and things of that nature.

yeah but when you put member number in there people ar ejust gonna get ripped if they havent been here for a long time like myself, but i guess it really doesnt matter what is there people just want to have some sort of status symbol so they can think they are special.

What I did is I messed around with my IE font settings, so now under everybody's name, when they post, their post number and rating (beginner, advanced, etc) show up as really small, like size 6 or 7 font, and gray, so I can herdly see it against the background.

Okay... put the member number and other shite on hold. Sure that might be a good idea in the future, but lets think of something harvey can do right now. Lets start with making the member rating and post count smaller. And then maybe later be can get rid of it all together.

hmmm i tend to agree. some of the old forums i frequented your reputation was gained by what you said and how you handled yourself - not how many posts you had. it was cool b/c each person had their own reputation. im not saying that having the post # thing removed would help filter out the idiots, it just might be a cool experiment.
