i want to make a rail like that. did you use half inch pvc on that? because i think i might try out some smaller pvc like half inch or inch this time seems like it might work a little better and wont chip off as easy
The quarter pipe thing is gonna be put up against a tree for a tree jib. It's not setup yet because we actually need real snow to hit a tree jib. The mats are just tarp and the works really well. We just put a little snow on top of them and it slid perfectly. There's gonna be a flat down box next to the flatbar and a wallride type deal later.
We used 1 inch pvc. It was really easy to screw down and slid super well. The rail is 14 feet long so we had to use two pieces, but putting them together wasn't a problem
cuz in most peoples backyards that means the start will be way to high an it will take to much work to make a launch and get enough speed to get up there.
yeah 16 is a good length. A lot of material comes in that length too. But you don't have to 1 piece everything. My box is twenty feet and made of a couple of sheets of hdpe.
i dont know its not my setup, its snowjibber's. i just posted his pics on the thread because he gave us a link to those pics and its easier to just look at the pic if its on the thread.
no its not hard at all, its layed against a picnic table and we got steps goin up that, so we jus lay r skis up there, click in, then drop in... this pic might giv u a better angle, (or it may make it look mor like a deathtrap lol)
naa, u dont really need to turn much at all,,, again its the angle i took the pic at, but im currently trying to build a new drop in anyways (a lil less involved)
yea we eventually got mor turf and thru it down in that space and on the landing, to make it a lil mor slippery we sprayed it down wit soapy water too, it worked out pretty nicely
unless you make them so you can mess around with the setup like an up-down down-flat up-flat ect 8ft might get old after a lil while but thats a good build plan for your rail
i used to a have a pvc setup with a drop in and atsroturf and a kicker, but i realized that moving it around was way too much work. thats why i built this:
a down box coming off of my trampoline. its really fun and stable, and you can jump from the trampoline onto the box if you want. heres another angle
heres a picture of the material i used. after using lexan and pvc, i highly reccomend this over anything.
its composite (artifical, plastic) decking that i got at Menards. really slippery and rediculously cheap. it costs 10$ per 8 foot board. extremely durable but must be kept clean so it will always slide well. jea.
