This kid made a sick edit, wanted to share it with NS and he did. You're just ignorant if you think there are no such things as 500 sqft homes, Whistler's property values are ridiculous and everything's expensive there. You have about 10 pairs of skis, and you're complaining about him getting a camera? He paid for half of it and his parents helped him out with the rest. honestly I don't see how this edit is supposed to be so good. all he did was was use an hd camera, switch up the angle a bit, focused in and out, and added a decent song.
I'm not saying I can do better, but I don't see why it is being called such an amazing edit.

See people are missing the point here; for sure it's not the BEST edit looking at it from a filming/cinematography point of view but then again, I don't think I've seen a tramp edit with this much work put into it either. By a 13 year old none the less. It's a lot better than what more than half of this site can do.
I doubt most of the people talking shit have actually tried to make an edit themselves, it really hard work and a lot of time and effort goes into it; from setting up shots, timing it right, lighting, post production etc. Despite what people may think, making a good edit isn't just about getting a 2K+ camera and pressing the record button. I think people have become too accustomed to "pro" edits being released online almost daily, call it an inflation in quality edits if you will (not saying its necessarily bad, but you get my point).
I saw another thread where a kid (hattedbyU) was ragging hard on the "My Alaska" teaser because to him it "didn't portray the real Alaska." Now while many of us may think we have a good idea of what "Alaska" is from watching big production ski movies, Alaska isn't all huge mountains and (apparently) they don't get good snow all that often. You just don't realize it, because what you see is what you believe.
Anyways, just thought I'd give my 2 cents because this kid is being hated on way too much and he doesn't deserve it.
