any info is great. mountains, food, stuff like that. really just looking for good terrain parks and some pow occasionally. also the going rates on lift tickets, season passes.

The "Thumb" is not the upper peninsula dude... That's the east side of the lower peninsula, the UP is an entirely different place. As far as anything in the thumb I can't really help, just lettin you know thats in the lower peninsula.

i don't know of any hills in the thumb region but if you're new to MI in a few hours you can probably make it to crystal mountain, boyne, nubs, caberfae, otsego, etc

plus i think there are some other ones on the eastern side of the state like apple mountain and then theres the garbage heaps in the south

nice, i live in the thumb. yeah but nowhere near the thumb can compare to boyne or nubs, they are deffinitly worth the trip up. I try to make the trip to boyne about every other weekend and in the down time i ride Pine knob.

haha upper peninsula detroit thumb area does not sound familiar. but theres a few different options in both the thumb and upper peninsula to shr3d.

Im from Imlay City, the "Gateway to the Thumb" as a large sign says next to the highway. The closest place to shred for me was either Holly or Pine knob. If you're going to be farther north, towards bay city or Bad Axe, Apple mtn is gonna be your easiest option.

PM if you need more info

ha Imlay city is like 15 minutes away. yeah i would recommend holly or pine knob. have never been to apple before though.

Although crystal is my weekend mountain, my other home mountain is Mount Holly (garbage dump) which is about 45 minutes north of detroit so it might be somewhere near you. Its decent, not that great though. I've heard better things about Pine Knob which is very close.
